Would you consider the audio edition of O, Pioneers! to be better than the print version?

I have never read the print version, but this is a wonderful story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of O, Pioneers!?

Alexandra is a compelling character and and I was rooting for Carl all the way.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The final scene with Emil and Marie is masterfully crafted.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Alexandra's brothers remind me of people from my hometown when I was a child. It was satisfying to see her get the better of them again and again.

Through Jim Burden's endearing, smitten voice, we revisit the remarkable vicissitudes of immigrant life in the Nebraska heartland, with all its insistent bonds. Guiding the way are some of literature's most beguiling characters: the Russian brothers plagued by memories of a fateful sleigh ride, Antonia's desperately homesick father and self-indulgent mother, and the coy Lena Lingard. Holding the pastoral society's heart, of course, is the bewitching, free-spirited Antonia.

If you could sum up My Antonia in three words, what would they be?

    Historic Touching Engrossing

What was one of the most memorable moments of My Antonia?

I particularly enjoyed the narrator's comparison of the country girls versus the town girls and his hearty appreciation of their sense of fun.

Have you listened to any of Jeff Cummings’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have never listened to his other performances. I did enjoy this one.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes.
