If you liked the first book, Touch the Dark, you will love this one. Be warned, just as book one left you hanging at the end so will this one. I can't wait to get book three. Hopefully audible will have it soon or I will have to go get the dead tree version
Classic scifi at it's best. A great way for younger "readers" to be introduced to scifi but still good for adults too.
Love the book & the narration is top notch but all the back ground noise and music takes away from the telling of the story. Really hope that they put out the other 2 books of the trilogy unabridged!
If you are a fan of the series you will enjoy this book. If you are new to the series do not start here. I really like the new narrator for the series. Some times it is hard when a new narrator takes over a series but pronunciations are the same and her reading really drew me in to the book. I hope Claudia Black will narrate the future books of this series.
This is a great additon to the series. The new narrator took some getting use to. The problem with the narrator was there was very littel voice difference between charaters that a good narrator can pull off. But once you got used to it the story really did make up for it. For you to get the full impact of the book you really need to go in order since the books build off one another. Happy reading :)
The first time I tried to listen to this book I only got 30 min in to it before I got bored and went on to another book. The author goes on in great detail about the ships and planets of the book and this can get tedious very quickly. I was also not used to a full cast book, it is quite different then a straight narrated book. I tried to listen to the book again a few months later since I had nothing else to listen to. After getting past the tediousness of the details it turned out to be a good space drama. I look forward to the next book in this series.
