In September 2001 Carmen Rodriguez, a beautiful 32-year-old Hartford mother of four, went missing. At first police were stymied - until a killer's crucial mistake led investigators down a long, dark road of cold, calculated murder.

    "Not a good listen"
    Overall

Probably better off reading the book than listening to it. The narrator can't seem to convey the author's words with the correct inflection or establish a mood for the book.

Recently widowed, grieving Los Angeles midwife/nurse Melinda Monroe answers a small upstate town's ad for help. Nestled amongst California's giant redwoods, quaint Virgin River is host to many quirky characters - including bar owner Jack Sheridan, who may be just the man to make Melinda smile again.

Houston mom says: "Great author if you like Nora Roberts!"
    "Light-hearted romance of sorts"
    Overall

The characters are interesting, but I grew bored with the plot about 3/4 of the way through. My general reading interests do not include romance novels. If you're into light-hearted romance novels, this is a great read. Great author and narrator. There are several more books that follow this one in the Virgin River series.

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Russell says: "Glad I Listened to 11-22-63 First"
    "Great writer, wonderful narrator!"
    Overall

This is one of the best King books I've read in a long time. The characters and plot make it difficult to stop listening once you start. I found myself carrying my iPod everywhere while listening to this book. Raul Esparza's excellent narration makes this book pleasant to listen to. I'm looking forward to hearing more from this narrator.

What do you do? Whenever people asked him, Eric Cash used to have a dozen answers. Artist, actor, screenwriter...But now he's 35 years old and he's still living downtown, still in the restaurant business, working night shifts and serving the people he always wanted to be. What does Eric do? He manages.

An excellent listen. Price's writing style and ability to tell a good story along with Bobby Cannevale's wonderful narrating skills make this a must listen. Highly recommended!

Rizzo's War, Lou Manfredo's stunningly authentic debut, partners a rookie detective with a seasoned veteran on his way to retirement in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn."There's no wrong, there's no right, there just is." This is the refrain of Joe Rizzo, a decades-long veteran of the NYPD, as he passes on the knowledge of his years of experience to his ambitious new partner, Mike McQueen, over a year of riding together as detectives in the Sixty-second Precinct in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.

Kathleen M. Crawford says: "Excellent Author, Excellent Narrator"

Lou Manfredo's debut is an honest look at police station politics and officer experiences. I look forward to Manfredo's next novel. Bobby Cannevale's talent as a narrator is amazing. His ability to modify his voice for each character along with his east coast accent makes this an excellent listen.

Why we think it’s a great listen: How do you one-up a book that’s already a global literary phenomenon? Hire Simon Vance to (flawlessly) interpret the loves, lives, and murders of Sweden’s cold and secret-filled world. A spellbinding amalgam of murder mystery, family saga, love story, and financial intrigue. It's about the disappearance 40 years ago of Harriet Vanger, a young scion of one of the wealthiest families in Sweden.

Pamela Murphy says: "COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN"
    "Great listen!"
    Overall

Hard to find another author of the same caliber. This book sets the standard for mystery and suspense.

When a disused church is bought by a young pagan couple, who intend to use it for their own rituals, the evangelical local rector reacts with fury. In an isolated community on the Welsh border, an atmosphere of stifling menace develops - with the persecution of innocent people, false accusations and the formation of a Christian vigilante group. Diocesan deliverance consultant Merrily Watkins is expected to keep the peace as this cauldron of conflict threatens to boil over into serious violence.

    Overall

Probably better to read this one rather than listen to it. Narrator speaks in monotone and is unpleasant to listen to.
