"Taylor is the name. John Taylor...My card says I'm a detective, but what I really am is an expert on finding things. It's part of the Gift I was born with as a child of the Nightside - the hidden heart of London where it's always three a.m., where inhuman creatures and otherworldly gods walk side-by-side in the endless darkness of the soul. Assignment: Joanna Barrett hires me to track down her teenage daughter, who decided to forgo the circus and run away to the Nightside."

Where does Something from the Nightside rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

this book rates very high in my entire book reading and listening history

What other book might you compare Something from the Nightside to and why?

My all-time favorite books are "Count of Monte Christo", "Dune", and anything by Tolkien. This book is just a bit less overall.

What does Marc Vietor bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He gives a voice that is not mine to the characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I resented having to stop listening to sleep or eat.

Once Olympia Wingfield had been free to devote all her time to her true passion: the study of ancient legends and long-lost treasure. But now, with three hellion nephews to raise, the absentminded beauty has very little time for research. Which makes it seem all the more serendipitous when a handsome stranger strides into Olympia’s library unannounced and proceeds to set her world to rights.

What did you like best about Deception? What did you like least?

The characters, as usual for Amanda Quick, were very well rounded. She has done better stories.

What did you like best about this story?

Nicely rounded characters and good descriptions of the times and mores.

What three words best describe Anne Flosnik’s voice?

I would have perferred less of an accent, but it fit the story.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

    More depth to the story.
