For fans of Tina Fey and David Sedaris - Internet star Jenny Lawson, aka The Bloggess, makes her literary debut. Jenny Lawson realized that the most mortifying moments of our lives - the ones we'd like to pretend never happened - are in fact the ones that define us. In Let's Pretend This Never Happened, Lawson takes readers on a hilarious journey recalling her bizarre upbringing in rural Texas, her devastatingly awkward high school years, and her relationship with her long-suffering husband, Victor.

    D. S. Smith says: "How the Bloggess almost made me crash my car!"

What made the experience of listening to Let's Pretend This Never Happened (A Mostly True Memoir) the most enjoyable?

Jenny Lawson opened herself to us and proudly displayed the things that most people will spend a lifetime trying to forget. She embraced her wonky upbringing and her oddities and 'normal' ways wearing them like a badge of honor.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jenny Lawson? Why or why not?

Absolutely, I feel as though she has a lot of great stories to tell.

What does Jenny Lawson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The way that she tells her personal experiences and journey is something that could not be matched if it were just read.

Meet Peter Brown, a young Manhattan emergency room doctor with an unusual past that is just about to catch up with him. His morning begins with the quick disarming of a would-be mugger, followed by a steamy elevator encounter with a sexy young pharmaceutical rep, topped off by a visit with a new patient - and from there Peter's day is going to get a whole lot worse and a whole lot weirder.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely, I did not want to stop listening to this book. It keeps you on your toes as Peter bounces from the past to the present and narrates the story of his life and the actions that have brought him to his current point. Bazell's words with Petkoff's narration is truly a winning combination.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I don't think it would be justifiable to say anyone other than Peter would be my favorite, he is not only the narrator but the central point in this entire story. He starts as just some MD on his way to work but from there the story rapidly changes and we are thrown into an alternate world and alternate life that come back to haunt Dr. Brown.

What does Robert Petkoff bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Petkoff has been able to bring to life the personalities of the characters and deals a fair hand when it comes to accents as well.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Laughing for sure and cringing at times, but mostly on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next.

Before Liz Lemon, before "Weekend Update," before "Sarah Palin," Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told....

Would you consider the audio edition of Bossypants to be better than the print version?

I personally have not read the print edition; this was certainly one area that detracted for me because Fey mentions referencing the .pdf to get the gist. For me this was impossible, I listened to this while commuting and there was no way that I could access a .pdf while in transit.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There were certainly moments of out loud laughter, and I didn't even mind the strange looks people were giving me while sitting at a light or in the long line of traffic.

    Any additional comments?

Fey did a great job taking some of the most obnoxious and hurtful things people could say as criticism and turns it into a fantastic little bit that shines a new laughable light on them. Overall, it was a good light listen for the commuting which can be a nightmare at times.
