There's a killer on the loose in San Francisco, and he's stalking newlyweds. When the usual procedures to stop him don't work, four women, each holding a piece of the puzzle, form a Women's Murder Club to collaborate outside the box and pursue the case. 1st to Die is the start of a new series of crime thrillers from James Patterson.

"Not so much with the narration...."

I like the storyline, ABC is coming out with the Women's Murder Club drama this fall (2007 starring Angie Harmon as Lindsey Boxer). The characters are likable but the narration started to grate on me. I just didn't like how she read it especially when she was saying Jacobi's lines... I let it go after awhile and just concentrated on the storyline.

I'm glad I "read" it but I'm having a hard time wanting to download the rest of the series that I bought and only because of the narration.

  • Death's Acre: Inside the Legendary Forensic Lab The Body Farm Where the Dead Do Tell Tales

    • ABRIDGED (6 hrs and 16 mins)
    • By Dr. Bill Bass, Jon Jefferson
    • Narrated By George Grizzard
    Overall
    (214)

    Story

Nowhere is there another lab like Dr. Bill Bass's: on a hillside in Tennessee, human bodies decompose in the open air, aided by insects, bacteria and birds, unhindered by coffins or mausoleums. At the "Body Farm," nature takes its course, with corpses buried in shallow graves, submerged in water, concealed beneath slabs of concrete, locked in trunks of cars. As stand-ins for murder victims, they serve the needs of science, and the cause of justice.

Aries says: "Promising but falls just shy of delivering"
    "Great listen..."

I really enjoyed this book and learned quite a bit from it. Can't wait to listen to it again. If you're interested in Forensic Pathology/Anthropology you need to get this one. Great narration. Big thumbs up!
