I've listened to the entire 5 books in the series ( so far) and looking forward to more (soon I hope). Good characters. I like the gobkin (he's a crossbreed) who's a familiar who's familiar shape is as a miniature potbellied pig who hangs out with his witch in a vintage clothing shop in San Francisco. He and his person get into lots of situations, and their friends help them get out. I highly recommend any and all in this series. I read them out of order, and gone back and read them in order, either way works fine. Its easy enough to pick up on the characters.
I've listened to each book many times. Before purchasing this book, I listened to all the previous ones, in order, then started this one. Jane has grown in each book. I really like this series. Hope for book 9 soon.
Some of these short stories include stuff from full length books, but they also add in a lot of information not included elsewhere. Well worth the purchase. I've listened to it a couple of times already.
I've always liked Grandma Mazaur, and even more so I this book. She has a stronger role than in the past. Stephanie tries life as a butcher when she tires of being chanced by killers and tossed off a bridge into a river. The butcher has a secret and Stephanie finds it.
Good to know Barney Barnaby and Sam Hooker are going strong, along with Rosa and Felicia. I've listened to both books any times. Wish there were more in this series.
I really like this one because Granny visits NY and plays a much larger role than in previous books. I like Granny. Spunky. Smart. Just imagine Granny on a flying carpet. Or Granny in Grand Central Station. Such fun.
Great next book in the series. Fun listen. katie's parents visit, learn where Katie inherited her immunity. And those red shoes her roommates wanted Katie to buy in the last book - they make a return visit and play an important role in this book. Katie has an unusual experience (more than normally unusual for her) and sees things from "the other" viewpoint. Great fun, fast story, fantastic narration. I highly recommend this book and this series. Just bought the next book and about to start listening.
Wasn't sure when I first started this book if I would like it. Seemed so serious, what with the rude boss and all. Then it got into the fun. Gargoyles. I like gargoyles. Especially talking ones. And frogs into princes. Like it so much I just bought book 2 in the series. Highly entertaining.
Vicky Bliss is one of my favorite characters. Her stories are funny and serious and full of action. I wish there were more in the series, and hope there are more to come. This one is set in current time, so that cell phones are involved. Great book.
Xe Sands is a great narrator. This series is quite different from her Lilly Ivory series, though both are based in San Francisco. The main character runs a construction company that restores historic houses. In my opinion, this is the best of the first three books in the series. I hope this series continues.
This book fits in well with the series based in Grundy, Alaska. It gives very unexpected background about the Doc in Crescent Valley. Some of the lesser known characters are expanded nicely. Don't want to give away the ending, but it was very unexpected, surprising, and fantastic. Pulls in some unexpected characters. I highly recommend this book.
