I just wasted 9 hours listening to this audiobook hoping it would have a point. How anyone rated it 5 stars is beyond me. The story had no point and was filled with sailing jargon in GREAT detail. I do not recommend it.
I had a hard time with this story. At one point, I had several pages of notes trying to keep all the characters and their relationships to each other straight. I finally gave up. Then I thought I must have listened to it out of order, since it skips around. I wanted to get the story, but this would be better if you also had the hard copy to refer back to.
I loved The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and the sequel, The Girl Who Played With Fire was worth the wait. I was sad to hear of Stieg Larsson's death, as he was a gifted writer. I wish there were more stories, as I love the heroine.
I loved "The Help". It made me laugh, it made me cry. The author paints such vivid pictures of the characters, and the readers do a great job. I was immersed in the story - I couldn't put it down, and I didn't want it to end. I highly recommend!
Loved this book! It held my interest to the end - I invented places to go so I could listen while I drove, and many times I sat at my destination not wanting to get out of my car. I was slightly disappointed in the ending, and hope subsequent stories by Steig Larson bring back the same characters. It is too bad he has passed away.
I enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. It is a great story - the author draws you in and paints a very real picture of the characters. I didn't want it to end yet couldn't wait to get to the end. I highly recommend it.
This was a very enjoyable book. The reader was excellent, both the older character as well as his younger self. The content was interesting, and unusual.
I was disappointed in this novel. After listening to it for over 10 hrs. the book just ended with no conclusion. Additionally, while the reader was good the book was rather boring.
The audio version of the book was hard to follow. It was long and tedious, and kept jumping around in history. I listened to over 7 hrs and couldn't finish it. The reader did a nice job with accents and quotes, but read so fast it was hard to find a spot to stop the book at the end of a sentence. Although if she hadn't read so fast, the book would have been even longer and more unsufferable.
