I've been reading and rereading Julie Garwood books since 1998. These days, I sit in wait for the next publication. Hot Shot was good from the first listen! The story gripping and entertaining. Strong female characters and eqully strong, sensitive male characters. If only we didn't have to wait a year between reads!
What can I say...I'm a true Garwood fan.
I am a Julie Garwood fanatic who became hooked on Christine Feehan (not to replace Julie; just an added addiction)...J.R. Ward has now joined the fold! And, Jim Frangione is a fabulous narrator...I'm not sure that people realize how important the narrator is to an audio book listener...
Anyway, if my favorite authors are not sufficient to help you read this book, let me give you a brief synopsis of those romantic elements that have me moving straight to the next book in the series. Impossibly strong, arrogant men - at least five more that I would like to see kneeling before the love of their lives. Equally strong women who capture their hearts. The vampire thing is subtle, not gross (which I appreciate) and there is a human element mixed in...
Whether you enjoy paranormal literature or not, you should definitely give Christine Feehan a try (either read or listen). I was not a paranormal regular and have read or listened to every one of the series and eagerly await the next one.
The series introduces the Carpathian people and the stories are sensual, romantic and inspiring. The heroes are strong, extremely arrogant men; the women equally courageous - together they are invincible...almost.
Christine Feehan brings the reader/listener into a world of romance, honor, and loyalty spanning centuries and transcending borders. Give it a try - truly worth the time...
Promises to be a great new series -
Sorry that the rest of the series wasn't written yet...
Absolutely. The entire series is well written, entertaining, and the premise is a new twist (for me) - a reversal of the usualy polygomy; instead of multiple wives, one wife has multiple husbands.
I would recommend the book as a read, not as a listen.
By simply paying attention to the punctuation.
This was a surprisingly entertaining, romantic story about two people who find themselves as they find each other -
I love the Highlands - introduced to me by Julie Garwood. Maya Banks is my next favorite author in this area. I loved her Highlander series and so far, the Montgomerys and Armstrongs are proving to be just as entertaining.
Eveline was a difficult character to portray yet you really felt as if she could not hear.
The relationship that blossomed between Graeme and Eveline and Graeme's brothers and Eveline was well developed. I can't wait to read the next books in the series.
I preferred Adam Paul's performance in Rush to his performance in the KGI series because I was used to Harry's voices.
The story was entertaining. I am not a fan of kinky sex. However, the delivery was not too severe in this case. Not a spectacular story - I much prefer the KGI series. But, worth a listen. Maya Banks is an extraordinary talent. Her range is phenominal!
