I quit listening about half way through the book. It started very well, but then I lost interest.
unknown Mormon history
No. I find him too dramatic. I only listen to stories read by him when they are highly recommended by friends. He irritates me.
an amazing novel
The way it carries an interesting theme through hundreds of years.
Replace Scott Brick, every sentence read by him is too dramatic.
The story was pretty good once you got past Scott Brick's narration.
He is too dramatic, every sentence is dramatic. I found him to be very irritating.
The way the 100 year old man keeps getting into trouble and then out again by accident.
The 100 year old man. He had a fantastic life accidentally meeting world famous characters like Truman, Stalin, Franco, etc. He invented the atomic bomb at Los Alamos even though he was a janitor, and he accidentally gave the secret to the Soviets-amazing.
The 100 year old man.
Laughed like crazy.
Jake Fisher's fight and flight scenes.
Jake Fisher because he was tough and smart. But a bit too obsessed with Natalie.
Have a different reader. I find Scott Brick too slow and dramatic. I had to listen to the book at 1.25 or 1.5 speed most of the time.
The fight scenes were very exciting.
It seemed like the author had to add a lot of unnecessary detail to make the story book length.
I have recommended this and all of the Wodehouse books to friends.
Bertie Wooster is such a wonderful horse's rear end, but hasn't a clue.
Bertie's trying to return the cat that he had stolen.
Wooster has cat problems
I loved the english accent of the narrator. Wodehouse's use of the english language for Bertie's telling the story is perfect.
Cubans, Haitians, Russians, Anglos, old Jews, Art Basel, modern art in Miami. Wolfe blasts them all in his inimitable style. But it seems like he filled the book with more detail than is needed; in order to make the book longer?
I loved the story, and the narration. I was a little put off by the indian accent at first, but then really enjoyed it.
This is an amazing book. It is about the few guys who figured out that the crash was coming and how to make a lot of money from it. All the the people are such unusual characters. A fabulous listen; never a dull moment. You don't have to be in the financial business to enjoy this book.
