More than 50 years after its first publication, Doubleday's definitive edition of Anne Frank's famous diary generated an extraordinary amount of excitement when it was published in early 1995. Enthusiastically received by critics and readers alike, it reigned for nine weeks on The New York Times best seller list and will remain for all time the version that millions of readers will cherish.

    "Have always loved this book."
    Overall

Of course, this book is wonderful. I wish that it was read by someone other than Selma Blair. I know there must be a reason as to why they chose her to narrate this book, maybe her voice really is Anne's true personality ~ but that's just it ~ Her voice is very dull and drab. Still, I love listening to the life and times of this young, amazingly bright girl. Anne was far before her time, or maybe she was just perfect for it. This book gives a great deal more detail than the other Anne Frank books that I have read. I am enjoying listening to it for the first time and learning new things about her and her family. ~

Around the time Elizabeth Gilbert turned 30, she went through an early-onslaught midlife crisis. She went through a divorce, a crushing depression, another failed love, and the eradication of everything she ever thought she was supposed to be. To recover from all this, Gilbert took a radical step. She got rid of her belongings, quit her job, and undertook a yearlong journey around the world, all alone. This is the absorbing chronicle of that year.

    Kerry says: "Witty and Wonderful"
    "Road trip to India!"
    Overall

I have really, really enjoyed listening to this book. Elizabeth Gilbert has a very soothing voice and everything that she is doing and going through are things that I have done and been through. I almost feel as if I am there again. She is funny and witty and this book seems to uplift me. The time she spent in India was my favorite. Funny but also very informative. ( "Groceries" ...so funny ). Read it to find out. I found this book to be a great listen. I can't wait to see the movie.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

The women who are the narrators in this audio book are so good! I want them to all narrate another book soon. They gave life to the characters. And now it is going to be a movie. I am thrilled! Great book. Great listen. The narrators made all the difference. Fantastic!!!
