I do like reading and listening to classical literature, but this story is extremely uninteresting and boring. The narrator just made it worse. I stopped listening after the first 45 minutes because I was falling asleep and cared nothing for the characters.
To anyone reading this, save your credit. I hated this listening to this book so much that I could not finish it. The narrator was completely monotone and the music along with the thunderstorm sounds made it worse. I actually wanted to listen to this classic but I think I will just read it in paper form instead.
No. Just this narrator.
I did not finish it due to the boring narrator.
I usually like to read and listen to classical literature. However, this audiobook is one of the worst I have ever listened to. I would not recommend it to anyone.
I loved this story! Ansel and Mia are charming :) They make you cheer for them to be together despite the dramas that threaten to tear them apart. Ansel is HOT! You just want to find someone that makes you feel the way he makes Mia feel every moment in this book.
However, I did not like the narrator. Her voice was whiny and annoying. I took 1 star off for the sub-par performance. I really liked Grace Grant from The Beautiful series. They need to bring her back or get someone who is comparable to Grace to narrate the next book.
Ansel. Reading about him makes you want a man just like him.
I love this book, just not the narrator.
Definitely! Although this is definitely not Shakespeare, it is entertaining. Once you take this book for what it is, "light entertainment" not Charlotte Bronte or Jane Austin, then it becomes a good read :) The description of how the main character falls in love and the way that she views her love is exactly how I would imagine it to be for a teenage girl. The supernatural twist to this story keeps it from being just another dull teen romance novel. The narrator reminds me of what Bella would actually sound like if a movie was never made based on this book.
Fifty Shades of Grey (XX-Rated), but a "G-rated version". Both of these books are love stories involving awkward young women who underestimate their own beauty and value. The men in both of these books are drop dead gorgeous but very possessive. I love both of these books :)
It is hard for me to narrow it down to only one scene. However, I have picked only two. The first is the first time that Bella saw Edward and the rest of the Cullens in the lunchroom at school. The description of how she looked at him just makes my heart melt. The second is Bella and Edward's first kiss after they spent the day in the meadow for the first time instead of going to Port Angeles. The first kiss with someone that you love is always an action that sends an electric shock down the body and heats the blood :)
Twilight is definitely worth the listen. A very entertaining love story about first love with a supernatural twist :)
As with the other 2 Stieg Larsson books, this book is fantastic except it takes a little while for the story to really get going. The narrator adds interest and keeps you going until the story starts to take off. If it were not for the plot dragging at time I would have given this whole series of books 5 stars :)
This narrator is AWESOME! He keeps you really engaged in the story even when the story is taking a while to develop. This story is fantastic except sometimes it takes a little while to get to the point. Love this series!
This is the first Sherlock Holmes stories I have ever listened to and it was entertaining. The reader had an excellent voice and both stories keep you interested. Definitely worth a credit :)
This is one of my all time favorite books! The reader is phenomenal and makes you want to listen to the story in one setting. Definitely worth the money :)
I used to be a huge fan of this series but now it is nothing more than smut. About every 30 or so pages there is some graphic group escapades which add very little to the story and just makes the book even worse. I began reading the Anita Blake books back in the early 1990s when they first came out and the books had the campy covers (which I miss). The Anita Blake books USED to be good. Now they are nothing more than a smut fest. Don't waste your Audible credits on this. Get a paper copy from the bookstore when it goes on clearance for $5.99 or less.
I loved the original Pride and Prejudice and the zombie additions just made it even better. The original text is all there with the zombie bits mixed it. It is hilarious and great entertainment :)
