Another classic Isabel Allende historical ficton. She seemlessly blends multiple themes together to make a thoroughly comprehensive story. This main plot of the book is the story of a slave from Santa Domingo to her freedom in New Orleans. Although not without horror or sorrow, it is a story filled with real hope.
Yes, it was lovely. It's magical, it's not necessarily a happy book but it was so well written and the story was just charming.
Reminiscent of Harry Potter, Narnia Books,
I'm not sure that I can say, but I did so enjoy the ending. which is a ery big deal for me.
No extreme reaction but it was a very good take you away from your troubles book
Charming story about Ernest Hemingway's first wife and their life in and around Paris prior to World War II.Great insights into Hemingway's character with a surpsrising ending (for me anyway).
The kind of book that stays with you long after.
Makes reading Hemingway now like looking in on an old friend.
