Lady Emily Clearbrook secretly loved the Earl of Stonebridge, but one day, he left her without a word. Now, years later, the man mysteriously reappears and battles Emily's four brawny brothers to woo her again. But the bigger battle seems to be with Emily! This sweet historical romance series, about a duke's family, includes delightful, heartwarming love stories that bring the Regency period to life.

    Story

I really wanted to love this book, it just did not connect for me. There was something about the dialogue that felt flat. It had witty moments but they just did not fell light.

Mostly I was annoyed with Emily, I know this is a historical but she was not to my liking. I wanted more fire and spunk from her. I was also not pleased with the hero, Jared married another woman and only came sniffing around again after she died. Nope not something I am generally a fan.

The story is nicely done, it just feels dry and did not give me warm fuzzies. I am not really sure what to expect in the brother's books either. They were very overbearing and really ticked me off.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Pearl Hewitt, who does a great job. She has a really lovely voice that makes the read more enjoyable. Her pace is swift and really moves along keeping the pace steady. Her voices were fabulous and really consistent. I will definitely look for more of her work.

I already have the second book in the series, so I will give it a listen, but I am not sure if it is more like this. I really could have used more intrigue and less of the romance. Perhaps it was just my mood.

Living in Desire, Oklahoma, and married to two incredible men, Jesse Erickson felt her world was perfect, until she walks through the door of her home one day and has her world turned upside down. Shocked to the core, and with her world crumbling around her, she runs, too shaken to cope. Clay and Rio Erickson hate keeping secrets from Jesse, but didn't have a choice. They certainly hadn't expected their wife to assume the worst and run.

Sigh, I love this series, I really do, and Jesse's book was one of my favs. So, I was super excited about this little revisit. It was a bit time letdown.

Jesse, Clay and Rio are still having the same problems that I thought were resolved at the end of her book! I think they need to have a serious sit down talk not spankings and sex! I know, I usually love spankings and sex, but clearly they have issues to work out.

I like the mixed narrative, it helps getting the POV for each of the leads. This is key to understanding where each character is coming from in this complex relationship.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Audrey Lusk, who is fantastic. She definitely delivers with the energy and feel of the smutty read. Her characters are consistent and distinct throughout the short read. She does great men's voices. not too deep but just masculine enough to keep it hawt!

I really like this series, but I am ready to move forward. This book was a step backwards and a big tease. Give me the next couple!! Please!

Beatleness explains how the band became a source of emotional, intellectual, aesthetic, and spiritual nurturance in fans’ lives, creating a relationship that was historically unique. Looking at that relationship against the backdrop of the sexual revolution, the Vietnam War, political assassinations, and other events of those tumultuous years, the audiobook critically examines the often-heard assertion that the Beatles changed everything.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ringo has always been my favorite. I root for the underdog! LOL I will admit to a crush on Paul and loving John's humor and the quiet wit of George. But Ringo just captured my heart with his awkwardness.

What does Tamara Marston bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She has a great voice for audiobooks. I love that little rasp and would love to hear her on a Paranormal/Urban Fantasy read. She has a terrific pace that keeps you listening, even when the material gets slower.

    Any additional comments?

I love the Beatles and it was fascinating reading about their rise to fame through the eyes of their fans. I wasn't around at the time, so it was great to hear all the little things people thought and felt in the moment. Being a child of the technology age, it was eye-opening to see how they took the world by storm in a time when there was no internet or viral content to launch artists to stardom. It was a history lesson while finding out new information about one of my favorite bands. Definitely a must for any Beatles fan!

    Story

This is not your typical YA or Dystopian read. It was so different from others I have read in the genre. It doesn't focus on a romance. It is more about surviving in a tenuous situation. Poor Cayla has to gather her wits and make the best of a very unpleasant situation. I love characters who are not waiting around to be saved. She is spunky but smart, finding just the right way to live another day.

The world this is set in is very interesting. Governments fall only to be replaced by Crime Families. I would have liked more about the history of this change and how the Crime families are outside the home. I also would have loved more on the Rebellion. Perhaps we are most limited because it is all from Kayla's POV, and she really isn't in the know.

While I felt this was a terrific read, it moves rather slowly for the target audience. Most YA is fast paced and constantly engaging. This story has more of a slow build. Blew my mind when they story flips about halfway through. I did not see that coming, at all.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Andrea Emmes, who is well suited to the genre. Her voicing was wonderful and engaging. She keeps a steady pace that keeps you listening, even when things get a little dull in the first half. I loved the wealth of knowledge she was able to instill in Cayla by the end of the book. She was on a journey and grew from it, her voice reflects her gained strength.

I wasn't sure whey to expect coming into this read. I definitely was surprised and delighted to see such an interesting YA tale. I would love to find more of this author in audio, with the same narrator!

This is such a little collection of short stories. They are quick, but hold a nice punch!

Really descriptive and engaging. My favorite was the first story "Geeks Rule". It really sets the tone for the collection. Wonderful story telling all around. Each story has its own little twist to keep the reader on their toes.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Basil Sands, who is also the author. I am not usually for authors reading their own books, unless it is a biography. This is an exception, because the author just happens to be a talented narrator as well. Who better to understand the voices and emotions of his characters. He has a great pace and solid energy throughout. A few voices get a little too high, but that is me nit-picking. I would definitely look for more of his work!

Overall this is a great collection and I hope Mr Sands finds time to create more short stories.

    Story

Such an interesting read. Not your typical YA, this has many religious elements to the story. It does have the Urban Fantasy feel with Christian undertones.

The story moves rather slowly at times. It is almost all from Jacob's POV, with a couple snippets of others. It keeps the reader in the dark about what others are thinking or their motivations. Many times the supporting characters do not give enough hints into what they think and feel.

The romance is light, this is definitely a more male oriented YA read. Not really flowery or girly. There are also plenty of battle type scenes. It is definitely about the battle between good and evil.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Jeffrey Kafer, is wonderful! He has a great deep voice that carries you through the story. He is one of the reasons I stuck with the story, even after it was clear it wasn't exactly to my taste. I loved his read and would really like to try something that is in my wheel house. His pace was terrific and he had an engaging energy in the read.

Overall, this wasn't a read for me, but I can see many audiences it would appeal to, very much. It is more of a Christian YA theme more geared to male readers.

    Story

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book. I was vaguely aware when I started reading that is is a YA. I didn't really know what was coming. I was so pleasantly surprised by this book! What a great read!! I wish there were more like this in the genre!

There is a romance, cause it is YA and of course there has to be a romance. It is a little unconventional though. I was wondering how things would turn out in a story where the girl seemed to be falling for a ghost. I was very happy with the outcome. The author is clever enough to easy you into a transition that makes everyone happy. There are some tricky moments. but I really felt that was the best ending all around.

This whole book is from Zoe's POV, which limits you in how you see things. You only get her side of the story with what happened with Logan when they were younger. I am curious to know his side of things. You only get to know what she knows, which isn't a lot at first.

I loved her snarky humor. She is sassy and awesome and gets even better as she lets people in, no longer using that wit to push others away. She is still snarky and sarcastic, but gentler as well. It was a joy seeing her grow and build relationships with others.

The supporting cast here is fantastic. She has a fabulous gay BFF Carlos, who is diva-licious at times! Her mom is super supportive and a touch protective. And the love interest is beyond sweet and endearing. I wanted to date him myself! Oh, yeah, she has her own personal undead stalker as well.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Tara Millette, who is wonderful. This is my first read from her and I promise not my last. She has the snark down and infuses such emotion into the read. This is one of the most enjoyable reads I have had in a while. Her energy throughout the read and terrific pace only add to the joy of listening. Definitely a narrator to stalk...um watch!

Overall this was a great read. There is the mystery of finding out what happened to Logan, that was a little obvious after hearing the first few clues. Then again, I watch a lot of crime dramas, so what I thought was obvious, others might not see right away. Even with knowing who did it the story telling was engaging and dynamic.

I really enjoyed this book, but it has been some time since I read the first 4 in the series. This made it tricky trying to remember who is with who. The book starts off with a hot group scene that involves all 9, whoa, that is a lot of smexy to keep track of! A couple names a similar and I was a little confused who was supposed to be with whom.

The story, there was a little here and there, progresses the group from being couples to a great big smexy pile of all in hotness. Oh lordy!! Expect lots of smexy sexing in this book!! Like 80%...maybe more. Uber hot for such a short read!! Have an ice bucket, cold shower and fire brigade on stand-by!!

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Gregory Salinas, who doubles the hot factor!! The man has a delicious voice and when he says all those naughty things...oh girl!! He brings all the deep rich sexiness out in his voice for the men and keeps the women more neutral. Great pace the whole time. He does hit the "T"s a little hard, but that is me getting picky.

I am not sure I can survive all the hotness of the next book! But I am willing to try, where is that number for the fire department again?

The fantasy elements are interesting, smexy magic toys, oh my!! Plenty of steam here. Mostly solo action with the toys. Loads of voyeurism! Hawt!! Be ready for a cold shower!

This is a super quirky read!! It had my attention from beginning to end!! Kind of because it jumps around and you really have to be on your toes.

Wade is more of a straight forward guy and when her meets up with Luce sparks fly! They go from one crazy situation to the next, really fast paced action. Maybe a little too fast at times. Always enjoyable!

I adore Luce and all her quirkiness, is she crazy or just eccentric, I sat the latter! She just seems to be one of those gals who always finds trouble or odd situations. I say roll with it! Loved her sass and she was a perfect match for Wade.

Loads of story to keep a gal busy, fantastic lead and supporting characters, really dynamic storytelling and a laugh out loud riot!

The romance isn't really a scorcher but they definitely have a little fire going on! I can not wait to see more, hint hint Mr. Henry...I am expecting a series here!

The narrative is mixed, going between Luce and Wade. It gives you a fair amount of insight into the characters. This does help put the story together. It has some jumpy bits that had me trying to follow what happened.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Valerie Gilbert. who does a great job with the challenging read. Her pace really helps keep eh story moving. I loved her voicing of Luce, plenty of sass to keep her fun. Wade was a little rougher, but very distinct. Overall, I enjoyed the read, there were a couple spots where it was a touch stilted, ala Captain Kirk. But they were not enough for me to be put off the book.

Marc Henry is a new author for me and if his other books are as much fun as this one, I'm sold!
