Cats & Dogs (Alpha Trio #1)
Quick yummy little read! Not a lot of story here but what there is was well developed.

Cat is sassy and fun, while Em is deliciously Alpha!! Oh yeah, expect the smexy!! It hits hot and heavy! Delicious bit of steam makes a gal feel all warm and fuzzy.

Things happen quick, but it is a short read. I can also buy into the whole mate lust link. It happens often in shifter books.

This is like the beginning of a great story, I would love to see it expanded. There is so much possible with these characters.

The New Girl (Alpha Trio, #2)
The second book in the series is just as yummy as the first. We get a little more of the overall story and another brother mated.

Drei is the leader of the group and a delicious bad boy! Pair him up with Cassandra who is sassy and independent, instant fireworks!!

The steam here is a step beyond normal, when your gal can read you thoughts things get hotter!!

It is another nibble of a read. Short story that carries on the plot of the first book. Quick and to the point, I wish it were longer.

Can't wait to read the last brother's HEA.

A Special Taste (Alpha Trio, #3)
The last of the brothers to find his mate, Grig is lucky Kall came along to save hid drunkin butt!!

Uber-hot steamy action is serve up in the smexy scene!! I am talking some serious foreplay and wicked sex! A girl just can't get enough of that kind of reading!

The story finally comes to it's conclusion in this last short story. It was a really interesting mini-series and I would have loved it to be longer. Terrific concept that has great potential for more.

I listened to this book on audio and found narrator Meghan Kelly delightful. She does a very nice job with all the voices, she keeps them distinct and consistent. The men had a nice deep timber and the women had a smooth sassy quality. It was a nice steady read, evenly paced. I like things a touch faster so I switched to double speed.

This is a really interesting little series of short stories. I would love to see them expanded and made into at least novellas. The character and world building is really well done for the short time frame. Definitely had me wishing they were all longer.

Each book is sold solo or in the collection. I highly recommend getting the collection as individually they are quite pricey. While they are well written and engaging, the price is a little steep it you buy each book separately. Get the collection for a fair prince and enjoy them all at once.

Alright, I finished it, that is about all I have to say about the story. Seriously not happy with the outcome. There is just something about this author that draws me in and gets me reading serials that I really do not love. It is weird but I just could not stop reading.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Marami Hung, who is fantastic. She has a great energy and sucks you further into the book. She is a big part of why I kept listening and needed to finish the serial. Her tone is pleasing and the energy she puts into it is engaging. It is a nice pace, but I like it a little quicker, so I punched up the speed.

Book two in the serial doesn't get any less confusing! It gets even more convoluted and I was totally lost. More lost than Nancy!

I do not know what to say about the plot. It is a mixed narrative, so you finally get into Jaxon's head. It is just as twisted as you would expect. Not sure why I keep reading, other than I am invested and just want to know how it ends.

I thought I knew what I was getting into when I received the invitation from the lovers academy. I thought I was going for love. I had no idea that the lovers academy cared more about what happened between the sheets than it did a meeting of the minds and souls. This isn't your regular love story. My Prince Charming didn't ride up on a white horse and come and save me. In fact, he warned me to stay away from him. Of course, I didn't listen. Why would I? There's something so exciting about going after someone you shouldn't have.

This is a really tough call, while I did not love the story, it did suck me in and have me reading the whole serial.

Nancy is such a contradiction! Innocent virgin but super sassy and independent. It was hard getting a real bead on who she was and what was happening.

I guess it would have helped if I had read the other serials that are set in the same world. I was lost with all the extra plot intrigues.

This book kind of sets things up and getting you into the mix of the "Lovers, Academy" It starts out as a girl who is lusting after her former teacher. I am not generally a fan of this theme, but whatever. It ends up she can be distracted by a bad boy what gets to her by being a jerk. Some girls dig that, Nancy is one of them. She swiftly changes her interest to Jaxon, who seems to be doing some serious head games!

    Story

I usually like this author. I really liked the short story that preceded this book. This book just did not work for me. I think I had trouble connecting with the characters. It happens sometimes, not every book appeals to everyone.

Sam has a lot of baggage, which makes him more contentious to the heroine. Maddy is meant to be independent, but really she makes stupid decisions. She does things to be willful, which makes her seem more immature. The situation she was in at the beginning of the book was noble, she should have fought harder to get the SEALS to help. I was also really upset the SEALS did nothing to help the young girls in the school, knowing what would happen to them. The actions of this first mission totally soured my feeling towards them, it kept popping into my mind the whole book. There was no reason they could not have done something to help the schoolgirls.

Moving forward in the book, they story is all over the place. There is so much going on and so many twists, I could have used a chart to help follow all the intrigue. If you are looking for a plot to keep you on your toes, this will fit the bill.

It is a mixed narrative, going between the two leads POV. This helps you understand Sam better but Maddy is more than a touch annoying. Sorry, she just has some serious TSTL moments.

This is a smexy read, although things happen really quickly. I am willing to accept a certain amount of instant attraction/chemistry, but they do not even seem to like each other most of the time.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by David Brenin, who is always delightful. I love his tone on smexy reads, he has this delicious rumble that I can not get enough of hearing. He has a great pace that really helps move the story when the action drags. I will admit, his read kept me listening well after I had lost interest in the story. He is a very engaging narrator and a compliment to the read.

This was not the book for me, but I am sure there are others out there who will adore this drama-fest. Plenty of people like characters like Maddy and will love her. I am just not one of them. While I adore other books from Ms Melton, this series might not be my cup of tea.

    Story

I really like this series, so this book is great for moving things along, it was not so great at giving details. I feel like this book brought up more questions than answers. So many new plot points added, but in a really vague manner. I have to hope that the next book and the spin-off series will bring things to light.

Loved meeting Jinx in the last book and hoped to see her again. Not at all surprised to see her paired with Asher and that he is not a standard human. I am disappointed that we do not get their whole stories, sure things are mentioned, but there is so much more there to be told. Had this been a full book instead of a novella, it could have been epic.

This is a smexy steamy read, in the end. Oh boy, is it ever hawt!! All that waiting makes for a seriously combustible mating!

Like with other books in the series, it is a mixed narrative going between the leads POV. You also get a couple bonus POV from other characters.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Rider Strong, who has a delicious read. I love the gruff tone of his voice and it really compliments the story. He has a terrific pace through the read and moves with the action. I really like that he did not try to do women's voices, just adjusted his tone for their dialogue. I would love to hear more of his reads, it was a delightful experience for my ears!

I enjoyed this book and am eager to see what happens next in the series. I did feel there was so much missing and it would have been better with more story added.

    Story

I am totally hooked on this series. It has taken a little while to get back to it, thankfully it is in audio, which lets me play catch-up.

I really liked meeting Eadan in the other books and was thrilled to see him get a mate. Wouldn't you know he has to go find her to rescue her? Yeah, this series does not make things easy on the mates. They get such tough lives. Even though Inara is in need of rescue, she manages to save herself and her man. Can I get a "you go girl"?

This follows the theme of the series, insta-lust when you find your true mate. Add to that the who fae sex magic angle, and you guessed it, they get busy at an inappropriate time.

The steam factor is of the charts. Oh yeah, things are going to be uber smexy. That is something you come to expect in this series. Wide open bedroom door with plenty of steamy detail.

The narrative is mixed, mostly between the leads but a few randoms as well. It definitely gives you a full understanding of the motivations of everyone around. You will also get hints of stories yet to come.

The story is really short, so the plot is seriously abbreviated. There could have been so much more here. I know this series tries to stay in the novella range, but I would have liked a bit more story, cause it was intriguing.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Topher Samuels, who has a nice raspy grumble to his voice. I really enjoyed his tone, but he also sounded a touch congested. He has a nice pace and keeps the story moving. There are quite a few pauses I could do without, like after every paragraph. If you speed it up the pauses are reduced. I was also bothered by the pronunciation of a past character's name, really not how i thought it would be, grated my nerves every time he said it. Seems like a newer narrator, it will be interesting to hear one of his reads down the road. His women's voices are nice, not too high but a touch breathy.

I am hooked on this series, so I will keep reading, this was just a little disappointing. Everything felt rushed and there is so much story left untold. Please, give me more!!!

    Story

Okay, I want to be clear from the start, I did not hate this book. It has a great concept and was entertaining, however, there were many flaws. It wasn't an amazing read, but it was more than passable.

The characters are great. Caroline is usually a very strong gal, except when she is being self conscious. I get that she accepts the reality that she blends into the background. She just sees it more as a fault than a skill she could take advantage of in dangerous situations. It is one of those inconsistencies in an otherwise strong character.

Wolf is interesting, because he is always looking for an angle. Seriously, I have never met someone so jaded. Really, he has never met someone who did something selfless. Check out some random acts of kindness pal! Other than that, I really like him and the way he interacted with Caroline and his pals.

This is mostly a clean read, they have more of a smexy foreplay thing and plenty of lusting. Otherwise it doesn't get to the bedroom action.

The narrative is strange, it is mixed but super jumpy. Sometimes switching POV from one paragraph to the next. You really have to be paying attention to follow it. Eek, what a roller-coaster.

The writing is kind of stilted at times. Things get over explained and the story drags. The beginning is a ton of exposition on the team, and it makes you beg for the action to start. I get introducing them, as they are the focus of the series, but it is a really slow way to start.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Terri Acuna Thorne, who does a very nice job. I enjoyed her voices and the differences she kept consistent. I will say that the pace was tricky at times. The stilted writing and stilted read made me punch the speed up to finish the book. This is a newer narrator, perhaps she is just working out her own rhythm. I would like to hear her on something else to get a better feel for her skill.

It feels like this is a newer author. I am interested in seeing how she develops, as I said I did not hate the book. There are just many things you have to overlook along the way. There was something that kept me listening and made it engaging. I will definitely be looking into the next book in the series. The fact that I am ready to do another book, is a compliment to the potential of his author.

I recently reread this book in audio, still enjoyed it thoroughly!

I am so happy to have discovered this author and series!! I am really enjoying it! This is the second book and still shows great promise for things to come in the series.

I loved Lee!! She is an awesome character! She has been beat down by life and keeps getting up! She has a wonderful spirit and attitude for all she has been through. And Jim is just the right man for her! They are a great pair and I love the dynamic of their relationship.

This time around we get more of a feel for the Crossroads and how things run there. We met several shifters I am hoping to get stories for as well. So many possibilities and room for growth in the small community!

The story takes the front burner in this series and it is a great tale. I thought it was very well told and the resolution worked for me. Lee had her "You go, Girl" moment!

It is a fairly short read and at times things are a touch slow. More sex would have helped. It is erotica after all!

The steamy scenes that were included were delicious!! I just wished for a little more!

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Kellie Kamryn, who tends to be hit or miss with me. I like her read in general, as long as I speed it up, it is more the production quality that ruins things. This was better than others, less of the reading from a cave sound. I enjoyed her energy throughout the read and the consistency of the voices. Regular speed is too slow and has strange pacing, punch it up to double and it sounds great. She has a tendency to really hit the consonants, but that is just me getting picky. Overall I like her tone and would love her if not for the pace and production.

I am eager to see the rest of this series in audio, I have enjoyed the ebooks and would love to get all caught up in the series with audio!

    Story

I enjoyed this read, but there were flaws along the way. It is a nice concept, but the story feels slow mid-way through. The reason for he need of protection seems to be forgotten, often. Then suddenly the danger pops up again.

Reese is sweet, too sweet at times. I generally like her, it's just the pageant girl stuff. She is also shockingly naive at times. Oh, and I am not even going to get into the TSTL(too stupid to live) moments at the end.

Blake tends to run hot and cold, it was hard to really get a bead on him. I just kept thinking he was acting like a jerk, why would she like him? He does mellow out towards the end, but you miss a lot of it because the story fast forwards.

It is a mixed narrative, giving both leads POV, which kind of put you in their shoes. It goes a long way for keeping Blake out of my doghouse.

This romance is geared more for the clean readers. That is right kids, no ding ding, until there is a wedding ring. Then the bedroom door is shut in your naughty face!

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Lesley Ann Fogle, who does a great job. She does a Southern twang on Reese that I was not always fond of. It made her feel whiny. Other than that, she has a great pace and tone throughout the read. She makes it a comfortable listen, after you get used to that sugar sweet accent.

Overall, I enjoyed this read and would be interested to see what happens with the rest of the series. I think the others are his brothers. Could be intriguing reads.

This is the other team that does basically the same work as Immortal Ops. just more born shifters here. Plus these guys have been around much longer. They have a great dynamic and banter as a team. I can not wait to read all of them finding mates.

This story, from what I can tell, pieces together things after the last I-Ops events. Even though this is a novella, the world building is great, well if you are familiar with the other series. This does catch things up nicely, as I said it was a few years ago and this give a slight refresher of events. I kind of like this team better, they have more of a playfulness about them.

Duke is one of my favorites right off the bat! I love the he is a Luddite and is matched with a techie genius!! Gotta love opposites attracting! Mercy is very like-able and it is fun trying to follow her rambling when nervous. There are a few times when it seems too much, she just becomes a caricature of a nerdy girl.

Yummy smexy time!! Oh yeah!! The steam is great, could have used more, but it is a short read. It fits in with the whole true mates insta lust/love theme of the series. I have no problem with that, it is quite common in paranormal reads. It cuts down on too much chit chat before the steamy action.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Mason Lloyd, who is delicious!! He as several accents to tackle, doing a great job of keeping them distinct and consistent. His pace is swift, which I typically love, but had to slow down on the accents, it was tough to clearly get the words when listening at warp speed. He is totally understandable and delightful at normal listening speed.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and can not wait to read the rest of the team. The books are very connected to the other series, so I do suggest reading those first. It will help you understand the world, events and the characters. Too bad the first 4 are only in ebook. Fingers crossed audio is on the way soon, I cold use a refresher listen myself.
