Psychic ex-spy Mira Raiden's discovery of the tomb of an Atlantean king is just the first piece in a puzzle that will launch her on a journey to find the Trinity - an ancient device with the power to remake the world. But Mira is not alone in her search for the Trinity. Arrayed against her is an unholy alliance of evil: a team of brutish mercenaries; the beautiful but deadly daughter of Mira's former mentor; a manipulative grave robber, risen from the dead; and the heirs of the greatest evil the world has ever known.

An excellent mix of adventure, action and the supernatural. It is great to see the lead character, Mira, such a strong female. I couldn't stop listening. I am definitely looking forward to the next instalment. Give it a listen, you won't be sorry.
This was the first time I had listened to anything narrated by Jeffrey S. Fellin and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had read the book before but the narration really takes it to a whole new level. I will be keeping an eye out for more of his work.

I first read Magic Mirror a few years ago, I remembered that I enjoyed it and that I gave it 5 stars but for whatever reason, its just sat on my bookshelf, its not a book I have re-read. After just finishing the audiobook, my first instinct is to kick myself, why has it taken so long to go back to such a great story? Listening to it, I couldn’t help but notice the growth in author, Sean Ellis having read most of his work, you can see how he has improved, but that doesn’t mean my rating has changed at all, because it hasn’t, it is definitely a 5 star read, I just noticed the progression, which can only be taken as a positive, in my mind at least.

Magic Mirror has a hint of the paranormal, some action and a lot of mystery. Mix in some fantastic characters and that about sums up the book, I could say more, but it would be very difficult to do so without including spoilers and I would hate to give anything away, that would take away from your enjoyment when you read it, go ahead and buy it now, you won’t be sorry.

I have never listened to anything narrated by James Conlan before so this was a new experience for me, I was very impressed, I had no difficulty following the story and it was very obvious when a character changed. I thought the action was narrated particularly well, at times I was so lost in the story and narration that I forgot where I was and what I was doing. Personally, I think that is the reaction you look for in an audiobook, when you know it was worth the time and money. I will definitely be looking for more audiobooks by James.

Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden is Chicago's only openly practicing wizard. He is also dead broke. His vast knowledge and magical skills are unfortunately matched by his talent for making powerful enemies and alienating friends. With little more than his integrity left, he accepts an offer of work from Lt. Karin Murphy of Chicago's Special Investigations Unit. He wants to redeem himself in Murphy's eyes and make enough money to quiet his rumbling stomach.

    Story

After reading the first book in the series based on several friends recommendations and really enjoying it, which was a surprise to me, I picked up the audio book of the second book in the series - Fool Moon. Since I have recently started listening to audio books and find myself having more time to commit to listening to a book than to actually sitting down and reading that this is the perfect avenue to continue enjoying the books, or at least, I hope.

When I read the synopsis of this book and was promised werewolves, magic and generally a fun time, I couldn’t help but smile to myself, it definitely sounded like my kind of book. It did not disappoint. Harry Dresden is a really fun and interesting character, I couldn’t help but get wrapped up in the story, how he gets himself into these situations is beyond me, but deep down, wizard or not, he has a heart of gold. I like that in a character, that makes me care about what happens and allows me to become invested in the story. Jim Butcher really know to write a good story and he does it so well. Jim does a fabulous job of keeping characters grounded even with all the magical aspects of the story, really it’s a book about people and what makes them tick and how far they are willing to go for the people they care about…or maybe I’m reading too much into it, either way, it was a fun book.

I had heard from a friend that James Marsters was the narrator and did an incredible job, I have enjoyed every audio book this friend has recommended to date, so when he told me I should check this out, I had faith that he wouldn’t steer me wrong, and he didn’t. James does a wonderful job setting the scene, giving each character a unique sound and feel to them. I never once wondered which character was which or what was going on, it made it extremely easy to follow.

Overall I would highly recommend this book to others that enjoy a well written, fun story.

The South American Boreal: one of the last truly unexplored jungles on our planet. In its dark heart is an ancient crater basin, sealed in by a living cage, making it a time capsule for an ancient, deadly ecosystem. Matt Kearns, Carla Nero and a team of scientist explorers have found their way in. In the crater's sunken interior are creatures from a primordial nightmare. Dangers lurk in every treetop, under every rock or loom monstrously over them. It is a place where mankind is out of time.

I find it hard to believe that I knew nothing of this series of books until a few weeks ago, they are fantastic and I will recommend them to everyone. Beyond Judgment doesn't disappoint, like the previous two books, it is an action-packed thrill ride. Great writing, superb characters, a few twists and it leaves you crying out for more.

RC Bray is on fine form for the audiobooks, the narration is fantastic and you feel like you are there with the characters. Let's also take a moment to comment on the accents, how does he do it? You never have any doubt over which character is which or what Country they represent. It just astounds me every time I listen to them. If you haven't listened to these yet, do yourself a favour and go get them.

This was a great match-up of authors. I would highly recommend these novellas. Jeffrey Kafer is on fine form yet again, his narration really brings the characters to life. Give it a listen.
