Another action-packed adventure. Some twist and turns, some you'll see coming but others that you won't. Some may even have you shouting at the book in shock. The humour is still very evident and a big part of what makes this series fun, the pop culture references are a nice touch. I'm looking forward to the next book.

I had a different version of this audiobook and only managed about 15 minutes, maybe it was because I had just finished 'The Hunters' but the characters sounded wrong and whiny. Luckily I was able to return it and use the credit to get this edition.
I love Dudley Hinton's performance and was so glad to experience the characters as I imagined them, thanks to his performance in 'The Hunters'. The performance is smooth and engrossing, the characters are each very distinct and identifiable. I look forward to listening to more.

The Hunters: Financed by a billionaire philanthropist, this elite team - an ex-soldier, an historian, a computer whiz, a weapons expert, and a thief - is tasked with finding the world's most legendary treasures. The mission: Fearing a German victory in WWI, the Romanian government signed a deal with Russia to guarantee the safety of the country's treasures. In 1916, two trains full of gold and the most precious possessions of the Romanian state - paintings, jewellery, and ancient artefacts - were sent to the underground vaults of the Kremlin. But in the turmoil of war, the treasure was scattered - and lost.

I have never read anything by Chris Kuzneski before but The Hunters had been recommended to me a number of times. I figured I'd give it a shot and listen to the audiobook.
What a thrill ride, edge of your seat action, fun and interesting characters and a historical mystery. The chapters are short and it's easy to get into the story. If you like a dose of humour with your action, definitely give this book a try. I had moments of actually laughing out loud.
Dudley Hinton really immerses the listener in the action of the story, making the unbelievable, believable with his performance. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Twice before, Dodge Dalton proved himself a worthy heir to the heroic Captain Falcon, but saving the world has been more costly than he could have imagined. The scars of that sacrifice have only just begun to heal when disaster strikes again. Dodge's friend Doc Newcombe has been kidnapped by a gang of terrorists who plan to use his scientific expertise to build a weapon capable of destroying entire cities.

Dodge Dalton is back for another adventure and this one is just as, if not, more fun than the two that came before it. I just love the characters of Dodge and Hurricane, they are fun, well written and really blend well together. The thing I love about these books is that the good guys are old-fashioned good guys and do what it takes to rescue their friends, save the world and maybe get the girl. Also, that you are kept guessing, so who is the 'real' bad guy and when all is revealed you can't help but sit back and thing 'darn, how did I miss that?' That is the effect of good writing. I really hope we see more of Dodge, his friends and their adventures in the future because these books are pure escapism.

Jeffrey S. Fellin or as I've taken to calling him 'The Voice of Dodge' delivers a fantastic performance. Really encompassing the listener in the story, not only making the characters seem larger than life but allowing the listener to visualise what is happening and feel like they are observing the story as it's happening. The performance is smooth and it's very easy to follow which character is which. I think Sean Ellis' writing and Jeffrey S. fellin's narration are a perfect blend. I really hope for more in the future.

I really enjoyed this story, Steven Savile has a way with words. At some points I was actually laughing out loud. I was slightly disappointed with the narration, it was difficult for me to get into, it wasn't very smooth and fluid which I'm used too. I felt it improved as the story went on, but overall I felt it took away from a good, well written story.

After a failed mission claims the lives of his five-man support team, Stan Tremblay, Callsign: Rook, flees Siberia and finds himself on the secluded coast of Norway, north of the Arctic Circle. Exhausted, cut off from the outside world, and emotionally beaten from his defeat in Russia, Rook just wants to find a place to rest. The small coastal town of Fenris Kystby seems like the perfect place. Within hours of arriving, he discovers that the town is not as tranquil as it appears.

Rook is alive but struggling with the events of the last Jack Sigler/ Chess Team book, he just wants to find somewhere quiet to lick his wounds and contemplate re-joining the team. He finds himself in the most remote place and still manages to get into trouble. Jeremy Robinson and Edward G. Talbot write this novella so perfectly, it has the right balance of seriousness, humor and the usual chess team hijinks.
Rook is funny but with substance and I think Kafer does a great job of showing that in his performance.

Jeremy Robinson and David Wood make a fantastic team. They both have series that grab a readers attention and write fun, action-packed adventures and this audiobook is no different. Zelda Baker, Callsign: Queen is searching for her team-mate Rook when her plane is diverted, Deep Blue wants Queen to do a reconnaissance mission only, but this is Queen and when things get tough she kicks some butt. I will never look at a fairground in the same way ever again.
Jeffrey Kafer really sells his performance in this audiobook, immersing the listener and makes it a fun listen.

Bishop is one of my favourite Jeremy Robinson characters....ever. I have been hoping and waiting for the individual character novellas to become available on audio and finally it has happened. Erik Somers, Callsign: Bishop is heading to Iran on a mission to Investigate a potential 'Manifold' facility, but all is not what it seems. This time, if things go wrong, Bishop won't be able to heal. The odds are high but this is Bishop, no-one messes with him.
Jeffrey Kafer's performance was fantastic, he immerses the listener in the story and leaves them wanting more.

This is part two of the Everlast duology and follows on from book one without missing a beat. It is quite the thriller ride, fast-paced and it will have you laughing, crying, gasping, shouting at the audible app (everyone does that, right?) and even cursing both Richard Bard and R.C. Bray.

Bray really did out-do himself with the range of characters and his performance was seamless. He has really made these books a joy to listen too.

If you haven't listened to any of this series, I recommend starting with Brainrush and offer this advice - fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride.
