Thea Harrison has a knack for this genre. I got hooked with Dragon Bound and never looked back, just waited for the next installment. I have to admit that even though I do love ALL the books and ALL characters, up to this point Dragon Bound and Oracle's Moon were my two favorites. Now this one has just become another, Can't wait for Grimm's story and Grayden to find his own "cupcake". Narration couldn't be better, Sophie you do an excellent job.
Wow, this, is a really hard review for me to do. Liked the plot, even though it was predictable. The narration was really hard for me, Abby C had way to much angst in her voice ALL the time so when it was needed for the story line it didn't really make an impression. Sean wasn't bad either but did not fit the character, every sentence felt like a graph, high to low high to low he would be better suited for a story about a PI in the thirties or something. These guys need a Phil G with the deep sexy voice. I felt the females were just a bit too high school for being thirty. Izzy was the worst, the love of your life, made plain multiple times, walks back into your life and you want to shun him and not get any answers, wow I don't think so. I really would like to go to the next book but not sure I can get thru another several hours with these narrators. I will most likely try, just to see if all the soft, breathy I'm so hurt voice is carried over to the next story. If so it will be my last I will buy the kindle edition.
This is about the most realistic portrayal of a mc that I have read. Having been married to a club member , I do have some personal knowledge. That is not to say that all clubs are the same. The guys really are like this, rough, bossy, drinkers, smokers, some are good guys at heart some are really, reallly not, but you will never run across a more loyal bunch of people then a mc. That being said as an opinion from my own experiences the one thing that made me laugh a little was how good looking all the guys were. Its okay because it is fiction so hey why not, but really most of the guys I knew were not tall, dark and handsome. I loved the characters, I loved the story line it was believable. There was a lot of introspection but I think it was needed. The narration was great I cant wait for the next instalment of the Hells Saints mc. Hope you use the same narrators.
Sorry I still like pnr but you know there really isn't a lot more to say in that genre. Now give me a hard body Russian mafia bad boy!! I got hooked reading Her Russian Protector series by Roxie Rivera and WOW. This book by Kresley Cole was FANTASTIC. I was a little bummed by the three part to one book thing. I hope she makes a series out of this but not in chaplets, it costs us the listeners more and for no real reason. I loved the H/h and the narrator was great.
Long, drawn out, and BORING. Not much else to say really. Just could not get into this one . Synopsis sounded interesting but that is as far as it went for me.
Thea Harrison just cant go wrong when writing about the elder races. This was beautiful and heart warming. Every time I Iisten to the newest in the elder races series I cringe hoping this is not the last one.Thea not only writes a story with wonderful characters that have real depth, edgy romance (we should all be so lucky), but the political dynamics of this fantasy world WOW, just WOW. Keep up the great work with the stories and Sophie Eastlake is the superb voice for all these characters, you could not have a better narrator for the elder series.
Again, good plot, hot Russians, good narration. Can't wait for Sergei and Nikolai to have their stories.
With this it doesn't even matter if everything seems plausible or not.The plot was cool, the Russians hot, what more can you ask for in a curl up in a chair to read book. Oh yeah a good narration, well it had that too. Fun fun fun
The story was good, the narration, was very good. Great lazy afternoon feel good read. Hope there will be more in the series. Already have the second one. Will the be a third? Hope so.
I was a little disappointed in the last installment but this one seems to be back on the level of the first two. There was enough steam to keep it hot but a great story line too. I always liked Hannah and was glad she has her own story. I am hoping Cole has a story of his own coming along soon. Narrator was a delight too.
Liked the first one, so bought the second one. Not dissapointed. If you want a feel good, easy listening story these are it. The narration is great, plots are just enough to keep your interest but do not overwhelm. Hope there are more coming from this author and narrator.
