Great mix of action, humour and romance, I bought the first book and now have purchased all of them. Tavia Gilbert gives a great performance its almost a dramatisation rather than a reading she does such a good job with the different characters
I gave up listening to this, I just did not connect with the characters and found the story line boring.
I tried to like this book, but there was nothing in it that I could like, it was dark, grim and brutal. The book was well written and well read but just not for me.
Baddies vs goodies, black hats vs white hats. Definitely no shades of grey in this book.
Silly names Yankee Doodle, Red Saviour Belladonna Blue and an uninspiring story means I won't be buying the second book. Pity because I normally like Mercedes' books, maybe she just put her name to this one and the other authors did the writing? Too many cooks?
I found it a bit slow to start with but once it got going I really enjoyed it. The psychological differences were interesting
Well written but I was annoyed by the narrator pronouncing the silent P in Psion, It should be the the same pronunciation as Psychology, or any other Ps words.
I enjoyed the story and the narration was good. But I was just getting into it when it finished, I wanted more!
I have enjoyed Mr Card's books in the past but found this one heavy going, with long involved explanations and unappealing characters. It started off well enough but then seemed to lose its way. It needed to be sharper and punchier with a quicker moving story line for me.
I also found the changes in narrator distracting, not sure what this added but I did not like it. I won't be buying any more books in what is obviously the start of a new series.
Whilst Dan did a good job on the narration the main protagonist was just too full of himself for my taste and the unnecessary use of F*** all the time was just plain annoying. Did not get past the first couple of chapters so returned it.
I have read the Jon & Lobo books and looked forward to hearing the next instalment, unfortunately I couldn't get on with Tom's voice and delivery method. I found it lacked emotion and even in the exiting passages I found the delivery to be flat.
I found this a whiney story with Sookie an annoying character. I won't be buying anymore.
