I love literature but I also love to read trash.

Since he won the Academy Award for best original screenplay a few years ago, Grant McCarthy's personal and professional lives have fallen apart. Abby, the woman he was supposed to marry, is engaged to someone else, and Grant is back at home on Gansett Island helping to run the family marina business while his father recovers from a serious injury. While all Grant's focus should be on winning back the love of his life, pesky Stephanie, who runs the marina restaurant, is working her way under his skin and into his bed. As Tropical Storm Hailey cuts off Gansett Island from the mainland, Grant suspects Stephanie is hiding something .

    Story

This is another fairly predictable instalment about the fabulous McCarthy family but Marie Force is drawing on the tools that made her Treading Water series so successful to infuse this story with a bit more grit. The medical disruptions in this one as well as the fairly thorough character development of our heroine makes for a more interesting story than some of the earlier titles in the series.

Maddie Chester is determined to leave her hometown of Gansett Island, a place that has brought her only bad memories and ugly rumors. Then she’s knocked off her bike on the way to her housekeeping job at McCarthy’s Resort Hotel by Gansett’s "favorite son", Mac McCarthy. He’s back in town to help his father with preparations to sell the family resort and has no intention of staying long. When Mac accidentally sends Maddie flying over the handlebars, badly injuring her, he moves in to nurse her back to health and help care for her young son.

    Story

While this is a good read, the character development and the attention to detail isn't as good as that found in Marie's Treading Water series. Much has been said about this narrator. Her style certainly takes some getting used to but it does allow the listener to make their own emotional decisions rather than depending on a narrator to do it for them. The recording does sound quite amateur with lots of background noise and very obvious edit points. Audible should make reference to whether the book has been self-published or professionally published. They should do the same with the recording quality.

What would have made Forever You better?

The story needed to be more original.

What do you think your next listen will be?

    Something more mentally stimulating

Would you listen to another book narrated by Felicity Munroe and David Benjamin Bliss ?

I might if the story was more convincingly written and the grammar and tenses weren't incorrect.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

There were some nice moments but I saw every plot twist coming.

    Any additional comments?

There are so many books in this genre that, in order to stand out they need to be original. They must also have literary integrity. This book had neither of those qualities.
