Rachel O'Malley works disasters for a living. Her specialty is helping children through trauma. For years Rachel has touched grief as she helps others through it, but now grief is something very personal - she is losing her own sister to cancer. When a school shooting rips through her community, she must lean hard against God to find the strength to help the children. For there is more than just sorrow confronting her, there's a secret.

I love this series from Dee Henderson. She as a way of telling a story that is real, exciting and some of the best love stories without making them graphic sex stories. The Healer is one of the best in bringing family together to help deal with the hurt and loss of a loved one. Wish there were more Dee Henderson's books (I've read all of them, and actually this is the second time I bought this one, opps).

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

A friend recommended this book to me and I am so glad she did. The story was so much deeper than I expected. I did not want to stop listening. The different speakers also helped a great deal, "I am 93, I think I am 93". Worth reading more than once to get all the good reading from it.

An innocent man is about to be executed. Only a guilty man can save him. Travis Boyette is such a man. In 1998, in the small East Texas city of Sloan, he abducted, raped, and strangled a popular high-school cheerleader. He buried her body so that it would never be found, then watched in amazement as police and prosecutors arrested and convicted Donté Drumm, a local football star, and marched him off to death row.

Great story line that kept me guessing what was going to happen next and what was the truth. While similar to Grisham's other lawyer stories, this one kept me listening and riding around just to hear what was going to happen next.

Ellis, Julia, and Dorie. Best friends since Catholic grade school, they now find themselves, in their mid-thirties, at the crossroads of life and love. Ellis, recently fired from a job she gave everything to, is rudderless and now beginning to question the choices she's made over the past decade of her life. Julia—whose caustic wit covers up her wounds—has a man who loves her and is offering her the world, but she can't hide from how deeply insecure she feels about her looks, her brains, her life.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend the book because it is a great read and so easy to see ourselves in these positions.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Summer Rental?

When the girlfriends are trying to make sense of their new housemates background.

What does Isabel Keating bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

the different accents of the girlfriends, it just made the conversation seem more real

    Any additional comments?

This was a great beach read with just enough romance and plenty of laughs.
