"Young people starting out in television sometimes say to me: 'I want to be you.' My stock reply is always: 'Then you have to take the whole package.'" And now, at last, the most important woman in the history of television journalism gives us that "whole package", in her inspiring and riveting memoir. After more than 40 years of interviewing celebrities of all kinds, Barbara Walters has turned her gift for examination onto herself to reveal the forces that shaped her extraordinary life.

Even if you've never been a Barbara Walters fan, you have to appreciate her career.

I found this entire memoir to be captivating, interesting, enlightening and hard to 'put down'. The history alone of what Walters has accomplished is incredible.

If you ARE a fan, you must purchase this and give it a listen. Great narration and wonderful storytelling.

Now the girls have an all-access pass to Hollywood’s hottest everything. But there’s more to life on camera than just parties and shopping. When racy photos of Jane are leaked to the press, she finds herself at the center of a tabloid scandal. She turns to her costar, Madison Parker, for help, unaware that Madison is scheming behind the scenes. She might be Jane’s shoulder to cry on, but does Madison really have Jane’s back?

What did you like best about Sweet Little Lies? What did you like least?

Hey, I will admit I was really into The Hills. I loved watching the formulated drama, and I really liked Lauren Conrad. It all sucked me in. LC as an author - sure, she's got the research down, but the entire series is too simplified. I expected more.

If you’ve listened to books by Lauren Conrad before, how does this one compare?

I enjoy the stories as "Beach Reads". They are simple, formulaic and somewhat predictable. But so was The Hills. LC's writing is okay - but it's not going to lead to a prolific career in novel writing for her. Eventually, the story will get old.

What three words best describe Jenna Lamia’s performance?

    Static, un-emotional, listenable.

Was Sweet Little Lies worth the listening time?

    Meh.

Pi Patel has been raised in a zoo in India. When his father decides to move the family to Canada and sell the animals to American zoos, everyone boards a Japanese cargo ship. The ship sinks, and 16-year-old Pi finds himself alone on a lifeboat with a hyena, an orangutan, a zebra with a broken leg, and a 450-pound Bengal tiger. Soon it's just Pi, the tiger, and the vast Pacific Ocean - for 227 days. Pi's fear, knowledge, and cunning keep him alive until they reach the coast of Mexico, where the tiger disappears into the jungle.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Everyone should have to read or listen to this story. It was so beautifully done, so provocative and imaginative. It's a story that stays with the reader and begs for discussion.

What did you like best about this story?

The Life of Pi speaks of so many things that tickle the imagination and the thinking bone. It's survival, adaptation, madness, horror - everything. . . and with a twist at the end that begs questioning.

What about Jeff Woodman’s performance did you like?

Jeff Woodman's performance brought authenticity to the story for me in that his Indian accent lent reality to the story-telling. Woodman's performance did not detract from the story in any way.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Well, since the film has already been made. . .Boy, Tiger, Boat, Ocean, Survival. Where can this story possibly go?

"Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness… He was beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I’d never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily…Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each other’s most private wounds…and desires."

Would you listen to Bared to You again? Why?

I would listen to this again. The narrator, Jill Redfield is EXCELLENT. She will be the first narrator that I will look for titles based on her narration. The story is easy to follow with enough drama and WTH moments to make it difficult to stop listening.

What other book might you compare Bared to You to and why?

There is the ubiquitous comparison to 50 Shades of Grey, but the characters are messed up in different ways. Different hangups, different neurosis. It's a darker story in a way, but the writing is hotter.

Which character – as performed by Jill Redfield – was your favorite?

Jill is a fantastic narrator. Ava is wonderfully portrayed. Three dimensional, emotional - Jill, you ROCK. Her talents allow her to paint a full cast of characters in her narration. Very well-done.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Can sexual chemistry make you a prisoner in a truly ****** up relationship?

Dirty little secrets.... Every movie and TV star has one. So does every agent and manager. Some producers and studio execs have two or even three. I'm talking about an assistant. Someone to answer your phones, pick up your dry cleaning. Someone to hide your drugs. Your assistant knows what you eat, who you're sleeping with, and what medications you're taking. They listen in on your phone calls. They are the eyes and ears of Hollywood...and occasionally they talk.

    Story

Though I did enjoy the sordid and crazy tales that some assistants were willing to share, I found myself wishing for more. The stories are told well enough that it's night on impossible to figure out whom the stories might apply to. They are also surprising enough that you may feel slightly disgusted, but hey - it's Hollywood.

I found Nemcoff's narration a little in your face. If it's possible, I'd say he YELLED the entire time - but I am sure it's down to the listener's interpretation. The only part I found slightly annoying was the lack of pause between stories.

Nary a second between one story to the next, if your ears blink, you will miss the end of one story and wonder how you ended up with a literary agent's sordid tale when you started with the skeleton of a promising young director.

    Fifty Shades Done.

I really enjoyed the story line and felt satisfied when our Christian 'found the light'. It was a fitting ending to a steamy series and I found myself almost hesitant to say goodbye to the much-hyped characters.

E.L. James probably smoked a long cigarette when she was done inking these tomes. I would say it's erotica tamed. A little naughty, but the whip is firmly in Ana's hand. She's been in charge the entire time. . .

Overall the performance was a little lack-luster and mono toned for me. . . .not as deep as the written word suggests. I was used Ms. Battoe as I'd listened to the first two Fifty books already, but must say that it's not the voice of Ana for me.

If you've ready the first two E.L. James books, you owe it to yourself to finish what you started. Don't read this first. You won't get it at all.

When it came to a woman scorned, not to mention two women scorned, maybe revenge was the best revenge. Thus when Joan Hoffman and Liz Savoie, both systematically dumped by the men they thought they loved, worked out side-by-side at the gym one fine day, they formulated a plan. A club, if you will. Why not go after each other's husbands? See them. Seduce them. And drop them.

Reminiscent of The First Wives Club and other story lines such as that, The Payback Club is a fun read. Women getting revenge and figuring out who they are in the process is always a fun read. The narration is engaging and the characters portrayed well. If you are looking for the proverbial beach read, you must add this to your list. I will listen again at a future date as I enjoyed the story line, even if it was slightly predictable.

A teen idol at 15, an international icon and founder of the Brat Pack at 20, and one of Hollywood's top stars to this day, Rob Lowe chronicles his experiences. Never mean-spirited or salacious, Lowe delivers unexpected glimpses into his successes, disappointments, relationships, and one-of-a-kind encounters with people who shaped our world over the last 25 years. These stories are as entertaining as they are unforgettable.

A fan of Rob Lowe's since The Outsiders, his beautiful DNA mix adorned my bedroom wall when I was but 16. In his Don Johnson suit and blindingly white wife-beater tank top, I'd practically swoon every time I looked at him.

I was deeply satisfied that Rob Lowe read his own memoirs as it takes the reader into that private circle that we so rarely (if ever) get to enter. To hear Rob Lowe's account of the stories that were reported and unreported, to know how he felt as he went through all of his life's extreme ups and downs was riveting for me. He addresses everything - sex tape, marriage, drugs, alcohol, fatherhood, career.

I certainly don't mean to gush. I wished he'd maybe inject more emotion into his reading, as, at times, it did seem - read. But overall I found it a very satisfying experience. A must for any Rob Lowe fan.
