A true story that few ever believed would come to light, Growing Up bin Laden uncovers startling revelations and hidden secrets carefully guarded by the most wanted terrorist of our lifetime, Osama bin Laden.

Curatina says: "Fascinating. I could not stop listening."
"True grit and painful to hear"
    Overall

It must have been painful to write this book- it details one man's descent into extremist madness and the horrific toll it took on his wives and children. This book is a great read and gives some insight into a culture so different from our own; where husbands are king and wives and children are subjugated and raised according to the father's whims and beliefs. Thank God for America, I wouldn't last very long over there.....!

The definitive memoir by legendary actress and performer Debbie Reynolds - an entertaining and moving story of enduring friendships and unbreakable family bonds, of hitting bottom and rising to the top again - that offers a unique and deeply personal perspective on Hollywood and its elite, from the glory days of MGM to the present.

    Kerrie says: "Unsinkable and Unforgettable"

I loved this autobiography and it was an extra bonus that it was narrated by the author. She is witty, self-deprecating, and full of great stories from Hollywood and her adventurous life. If you are looking for a good celebrity read, this is a great choice.

Just in time for the kickoff of the 2012 presidential campaign, Joe McGinniss, the author of the classic account of the packaging of a presidential candidate, The Selling of the President; of the acclaimed search for the essence of Alaska, Going to Extremes; and of the best-selling study of the dark family secrets of an American patriarch, Fatal Vision; presents his already controversial investigative chronicle of Sarah Palin as an individual, politician, and cultural phenomenon.

Come on... this is what I thought when I listened to this book. This author was a lifetime criminal; but to hear her tell it, none of it was her fault... it was her mother, her father, her siblings, her kids, her lovers, etc.... Reality is obviously not something she's familiar with.

Roger Mudd joined CBS in 1961 and rose to fame as the congressional correspondent, covering the historic Senate filibuster debate over the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Mudd was there to see Dan Rather going toe-to-toe with the Nixon White House, Marvin Kalb deciphering the State Department, Daniel Schorr bird-dogging Watergate, Lesley Stahl and Connie Chung staking out all the president's men, George Herman presiding over Face the Nation, Bob Schieffer covering the Pentagon like a police reporter.

Meredith Baxter is a beloved and iconic television actress. Her warmth, humor, and brilliant smile made her one of the most popular women on television, with millions of viewers following her on the small screen each week. Yet her success masked a tumultuous personal story and a harrowing private life. For the first time, Baxter is ready to share her incredible highs, (working with Robert Redford, Doris Day, Lana Turner, and the cast of Family Ties), and lows....

gingerpenny95 says: "Self effacing pleasant to read"
    "Honest, forthright, interesting, well-written"
    Overall

Like everyone else, I knew Meredith Baxter-Birney from Family Ties and television movies, but this book is a revelation into a real life with real people. She is honest to a fault- and pulls no punches at the trials she has endured as the daughter of a famous mom, an actress, wife, mother, and finally, a happy and fulfilled woman. She reads with true emotion during each chapter of her life and I would highly recommend this book to all. It is interesting, funny, awe-inspiring and sometimes tear-jerking, but always Meredith. One of the best autobios I have ever read. I came away feeling like she was one of my friends; I always admired her as an actress, but now I admire the woman as well.

"What a great book and a great love story...."
    Overall

I would recommend this book to everyone... even those who weren't fans of Christopher Reeve. This book is about loss, courage, determination, resignation, family, spirit and most of all how strong the bonds of love can be throughout all. I enjoyed this book from the first word and Edward Hermann is an excellent narrator and was a friend to the Reeves, as well. If you want to be uplifted, even through the tragedy in this book, buy it, you won't be sorry.

Meghan McCain came to prominence as the straight-talking, progressive daughter of the 2008 Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain. And her profile has only risen since the election ended in favor of the other guy. What makes Meghan so appealing? As a new role model for young, creative, and vocal members of the GOP, she’s unafraid to mix it up and speak her mind. She doesn’t shy away from serious issues and her raucous humor and down-to-earth style keep her positions accessible.

    John says: "Refreshing but naive?"
"Loved the book, but the narration was awful!"
    Overall

One drawback in having the author narrate- if they are not accustomed to public speaking, they tend to speak way to fast and without much intonation, as if they can't wait to get it over with. That's what happened here; although I think the book is worth buying I wish Audible would do a better job of monitoring and mentoring their narrations.

Jo Buttafuoco's anonymous life as a suburban wife and mother in sleepy Massapequa, New York, on Long Island, ended in May 1992, when she was shot in the head on her own front porch. The "Long Island Lolita" saga sparked a media frenzy that has not died to this day. As the years passed and Mary Jo steadfastly stood by her man while Joey Buttafuoco and Amy Fisher continued to make headlines, one question lingered in the minds of women everywhere: Why did she stay for so long?

    Overall

I was starting to worry about Mary Jo; she stood by her man for way too long. This book is the final, honest account of her story with Joey B. and the aftermath of the shooting. She is painfully honest and detailed and she deserves kudos for writing a book that sets the record straight from her point of view. I'm glad to hear she is doing well and now has a new life without that jerk!

In American on Purpose, Craig Ferguson delivers a moving and achingly funny memoir of living the American dream as he journeys from the mean streets of Glasgow, Scotland, to the comedic promised land of Hollywood. Along the way he stumbles through several attempts to make his mark - as a punk rock musician, a construction worker, a bouncer, and, tragically, a modern dancer.

    Diane says: "Unabashedly Honest"
    "Craig, please write another book!"
    Overall

This book was fantastic, and the author narration made it even better. Conversational, honest, funny, everything you want in an audiobook. Craig tells it like it was; good, bad, and ugly, and his candor made me love him even more (notwithstanding he is really cute as heck!).
