Not sure what the fuss is about. The book felt disjointed. There were too many different stories, many of which just weren't that interesting. I would have preferred fewer characters, and going back for multiple visits with the same characters. I also would have preferred a more coherent timeline and more background info from the narrator/reporter.
Nothing much added to the genre that hasn't been explored before. Really, the only interesting thing about this novel is the concept, and that wears off rather quickly. Also, there were some very good performances, and some very bad ones (wheelchair guy narrator, I'm looking at you).
No -- love zombie/apocalypse books.
Yes, for some of the narrators.
Disappointment. Expected more.
Recommend getting the abridged version first. If you love it, and crave more, then consider getting the complete version. Wish I had done that.
A better narrator. Performance was terrible (accents bad, sounded young and inexperienced). Long breaks with no speaking, or bad music.
Story was ok. Disjointed, reaching. Incorporating the vampire stuff was not seamlessly done -- like trying to shoehorn a big left foot into a small right shoe.
