The actors and sound effects make it more difficult to understand what the f is going on!
Had to listen to it twice to make heads or tails out of it.
.... and that was to make Augustus look good to the Romans.
Great book, the reader dropped his voice low sometimes making it hard to understand. It was a great epic, completes the story of the Trojan war and the founding of Rome. Not as interesting as the Illiad as he had an agenda to glorify Rome instead of a tale to entertain but I'm sure the Romans of the Agustus Era enjoyed it.
Wow this helps so much!! So many of the characters get lost to most I think because of the time period but this helps answer so many questions and asks the right ones too to help you think and understand the Inferno. I'm so glad I read this after reading Divine Comedy and am going to re- read the Inferno again now.
I'm not in school but this is a great way to get more to the story than the book. It gives historical references about the author, it breaks down the chapters and explains the literary composition and symbolism. I thought it was a great help to understanding 1984.
I just found myself drifting off at times. It gets a little bit long and drags on in the middle of each book. I still enjoyed it and would recommend it to someone into the classics.
Performed really well. The author wanted to make sure you had a portrait of Paris in the 1480's and does a great (and sometimes long) job describing buildings, people, attitude and mentality of Paris and it's people.
Difficult book because it's so not part of everyday European History with all the people he's talking about. Read twice now and still don't feel like I caught the gist of the book.
Great story, great book, didn't care for the guy reading it. At times he sounded like Steven Hawkings...All in all good pick.
Otherwise it'll all go over your head. A story of a guy who plays music and his tale of learning Bethoven. Couldn't get through it.
You get so much more from the book,.. the back stories, verbal discriptions, more character building. It's a long book but I couldn't put it down. I've learned that the show is pretty true to the book but the book just clears up so many questions that you have in your head. Defo a must read if you're a fan.
