Alexandra Fuller tells the idiosyncratic story of her life growing up white in rural Rhodesia as it was becoming Zimbabwe. The daughter of hardworking, yet strikingly unconventional English-bred immigrants, Alexandra arrives in Africa at the tender age of two. She moves through life with a hardy resilience, even as a bloody war approaches. Narrator Lisette Lecat reads this remarkable memoir of a family clinging to a harsh landscape and the dying tenets of colonialism.

I agree with previous reviews....this is a brilliant, rare gem of a book. Having lived some years in Southern Africa....it brought back the feel Rhodesia/Zimbabwe....truly a rare glimpse into a world unknown to most of us.
The reader IS EXCEPTIONAL! This is one of those books that is BETTER in AUDIO...due to the narration. She has the accent's down pat!
Get it....your world view and heart will be the fuller for it!

Here is Ann Coulter's funniest, most devastating, and, yes, most outrageous audiobook to date. Coulter has become the brightest star in the conservative firmament, thanks to her razor-sharp reasoning and biting wit. Now you can listen to all the quotes that have so outraged her enemies and so delighted her legions of fans. Included are dozens of brand-new commentaries by Coulter as well as hundreds of never-before-published quotations.

She's funnier than Al Franken, smarter than Bill Moyers, and gorgeous to boot.

This is a hugely funny book riffing on the left.

Conservatives will laugh until they cry and Liberals will just....uh, cry.

The son of proudly Communist parents, David Horowitz became a major figure in the 1960s New Left. He is by no means the only intellectual and activist to have moved from the Left to the Right in recent decades, but few have done so while maintaining such a high profile and outspoken style. His book therefore becomes not only an important and fascinating memoir of the 1960s but also a devastating analysis of the legacy of that time.

Tom says: "Remarkable story, Wonderful narrator."
    "The Best I've"
    Overall

David Horowitz has written a brilliant auto-biography, from his roots as a son of relatively high-level Communist parents, through to his conversion to Conservatism. He writes with openesss and humility.
From "Ramparts" to his close relationship with The Black Panthers. You will learn alot about Tom Hayden, Huey Newton, Eldridge Cleaver, Abbie Hoffman and many others.
I could not stop listening. The "Roots" of the New Left become painfully apparent. And Horowitz's struggle with his own belief's makes for a riveting listen. The Narration and Sound are very good.
This is a very important and extremely captivating work. I will be listening to THIS one multiple times!
    Thank You Audible.........Please MORE Horowitz!

Welcome to the world of Ann Coulter. With her monumental bestsellers Treason, Slander, and High Crimes and Misdemeanors, Coulter has become the most recognized and talked-about conservative intellectual in years, and certainly the most controversial. Now, in How to Talk to a Liberal (If You Must), which is sure to ignite impassioned debate, she offers her most comprehensive analysis of the American political scene to date.

Ann is brilliant in this compilation of her columns. The abridged book is narrated by Coulter and the unabridged is well narrated. We have both copies.......you should too! If you haven't read Ann Coulter, here is THE PERFECT place to start. She is political sanity,
she talks straight. Conservatives will cry with laughter. Liberals will ......just cry.
This is a 5 star book......the ratings are political.(Trust me on this one).

Tune in to hear radio's Amos N' Andy, the most popular radio series of all time. Join the comedic duo of Freeman Gosden and Charles Correll as Amos Jones and Andrew H. Brown, two Harlem residents who owned the Fresh Air Taxi Company, so called because their taxicab had no windshield! Enjoy the antics of George "Kingfish" Stevens, radio's loveable con man who would go to any length to get rich quick.

One of the greatest audio experiences I've had was happening upon Amos n' Andy. I'd had a negative impression of the show but instead I discovered a brilliantly written comedy. I cared about the characters. It is a veritable laugh riot. A very human show. Do yourself a favor ...... give it a listen. You'll be glad you did.
