Internationally renowned psychiatrist, Viktor E. Frankl, endured years of unspeakable horror in Nazi death camps. During, and partly because of his suffering, Dr. Frankl developed a revolutionary approach to psychotherapy known as logotherapy. At the core of his theory is the belief that man's primary motivational force is his search for meaning.

Jake Sullivan is a licensed private eye with a seriously hardboiled attitude. He also possesses raw magical talent and the ability to make objects in his vicinity light as a feather or as heavy as depleted uranium, all with a magical thought. It's no wonder the G-men turn to Jake when they need someoneto go after a suspected killer who has been knocking off banks in a magic-enhanced crime spree.

If you could sum up Hard Magic in three words, what would they be?

The author is witty and able to interject his own human responses into the book. It allows everyone to relate, as much as they can to situations in the story. Big action and nice twists. Not so deep but a really fun listen. If you enjoy the Monster Hunter books then this will not let you down.

What did you like best about this story?

    the humor.

What about Bronson Pinchot’s performance did you like?

the Narrator was fun to listen to. Stayed true to the characters and maintained them well.

An orphan's life is harsh---and often short---in the island city of Camorr, built on the ruins of a mysterious alien race. But born with a quick wit and a gift for thieving, Locke Lamora has dodged both death and slavery, only to fall into the hands of an eyeless priest known as Chains---a man who is neither blind nor a priest. A con artist of extraordinary talent, Chains passes his skills on to his carefully selected "family" of orphans---a group known as the Gentlemen Bastards.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would have given the main character more Moxie. It seemed he was unable to be the person you wanted him to be. There was mention of Locke having some form of magic in the beginning of the book, but we never heard about it again.

Would you recommend The Lies of Locke Lamora to your friends? Why or why not?

I would recomend it, the narrator was fine and the flash-backs were entertaining.

Was The Lies of Locke Lamora worth the listening time?

any book I listen to needs to be 15 hours. Like I like my movies a minimum of 2 hours. Yes there was alot of character build up.
