While I have read this title before I wanted to enjoy it again via audio presentation. I would have enjoyed better character separation during the heavy Socratic questions suggestions still not a bad overall performance of a masterpiece of a favorite topic.
While the story was interesting and the reading wonderful theistic between each chapter was maddening.
I would suggest the written format for this story.
If you read this in the past it is a great review. If you are new to the philosophy then I would suggest getting the book first.
Not Since Madam Bovary have I enjoyed realizing how little we men understand how women's minds work! Great story that keep me up nights listening all the way through. Voice work and separation of characters was first rate.
Sissy Spacek gave life to the story that made it all the more enjoyable and immersive.
The story has been reviews so many times all I can say is that it is more important today than ever.
Wonderful mixture of history and story telling. With the added contrast of creation against destruction. Vision vs greed and murder. Well read and well done.
Wonderful performance of arguably the greatest work of science fiction.
This was a pleasure to listen to and the performance made the story come alive
Not what I expected at all and wonderfully surprised at the art of story telling in the book. Used next credit to buy The Idiot
Reading and presentation was beautifully done.
I enjoyed the book and enjoyed it so much that I want to review and implement many of the ideas continued within. The only issue is that in this case the audio book did not lend itself to the type of review.
I have often wished that audio books from this site would be broken down by chapters for easier review but I digress.
The book is a wonderful starting point to organizing your work and personal life and I would suggest everyone start listening and getting things done!
Wonderfully read and a great story. Is freedom of want and pain really freedom or a trap. ""All the advantages of Christianity and alcohol; none of their defects." If you could take a drug induced holiday and forget any worries you had would you? Is freedom the freedom to suffer? Great questions and a good story to review them with an ending befitting better science fiction!
So many men would have been broken, more would have been bitter, this story should be read to every boy that thinks of joining the service, this and Johnny Got His Gun. However, Unbroken is so much more powerful because it is real.
Well written, well read, and solid telling of the life of a man that was a man among men in a time of heroes.
