The peaceful village of Monksmere on the Suffolk coast was Superintendent Adam Dalgliesh's retreat from the daily brutality he had to deal with at Scotland Yard. Then they discovered the mutilated body of crime-writer Maurice Seton, whose macabre murder was to spark off a wave of unparalleled horror. Although the post mortem showed that Seton died from natural causes, Dalgliesh had a different view.

Would you consider the audio edition of Unnatural Causes to be better than the print version?

It depends on what the user wants at the moment.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Adam Dalgleish because he is smart, sensitive, fair, and determined to find the answers.

What does Michael Jayston bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Emphasis and a touch of drama.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    There's nothing natural about it!

    Any additional comments?

    P. D. James--the novelist who deals expertly with death--is the current Golden Age Master of Mystery and the absolute tops at characterization.

    Thanks for asking!
