I would recommend this book to friends and family but would have to with a warning about the language. The language is crude but it make the situation in the book believable.
Batman testing out a hypothesis and at "Veggie Shack" Danny's reactions and thoughts.
When the Fried Oreo guy asked Ceepak if he was George f****ing Washington? Danny's answer.
Ceepak meets Reality TV!
We listen to this book over the weekend and my wife stated that she was not enjoying the book as much as the other during the first half of the book. I asked "Why?" Her answer was the language and how this generation were treating each other. This lead to two discussions. First author Chris Grabstein go it right with language, actions, and events with reality shows. Then I pointed out how Danny and other locals in the same age group were just as discussed with this show as Ceepak and yet the town leader loved the show. This will be listen to again and would recommend it to friends and family.
A story line you could believe.
Better story line.
How can anyone survive be captured in every other chapter at gun point in a 80 chapter book. This just get old after a while. I done with this series.
Cut down the book down, if you took 2 hours off this book might have made it easier to listen to. I listen to all books in this series but the long uninteresting conversations just got old. How can Judy and Mary have a fight? This didn't help the story at all and of course no communications aspect is a little out of the question. 2 hours + less would have made a better book.
I read have to reviews for this author from now on.
Can't say one way or another.
Many people were right and many of the same people were also wrong.
I like the first half the second half I think the author did not know how to finish the book. It just went on and on.
Not one good person in the whole book, they are all good from time to time but if you look at their core not very loyal to anyone or any political view. A bunch of lairs and cheaters, none on the characters in this book had the integrity the previous generations had. At a book store this should be on the same isle with Harlingen Love Novel.
It was amazing is how he treated Presidents, he did a fair job with each but as he got to Nixon every time Nixon was referred to he a Crook, Lair, and Criminal Nixon. I could have almost accepted it if he referred to Kennedy as Weak, Racist, (would not be photographed with Blacks) and Cheating Kennedy. Poor George Jakes does know when to be disappointed as he worked his whole life for Civil Rights and the only President that enforce the laws, he cheered when that President left. Besides Kennedy being a womanizer the Democratic Presidents were all hard working with no fault and could not do anything wrong and Follett could not figure out why the American people voted the way they did..
I was so looking forward to this book and now I might not ever read another Ken Follett book but I would listen to John Lee book. Timing was interesting as he related Communism to the racist white America then gloss over and not even mention some of the real violence that was happening during the late 1960's.
Yes but they would have read many other books if they want the full effects of this.
That this book was not in constant battle a more story than just battles.
Harry and the gang.
I did not like the last two books and was real reluctant to purchase this one. Only after reading many review did I go ahead and purchase this book. I am very glad I did, if you liked the old Harry and the stories then you'll like this book.
Anyone who get free reads with their Kindle readers.
No, I got on Daily Deal and paid $4 so that what it worth. Will not buy anything off Daily Deals.
She did best one she could with the material she had.
Just some disappointment, it just wasn't what I expected but I did finish the book.
Top 10 easily but what I did like the development of the characters. I just don't want to spoil the book for others but it was just well done. By the way I have listen to every booked ever put into audio by Robert B. Parker.
Everertt, a man who is his own man and understand it and why. Still he is a side kick to Virgil. He has no problem with doing this but his true wish is to settle down with a that special woman and he just can't do it.
Alejandro Vasquez, development of the character was so well done. For all the wrong reason you can't help but like the guy.
He goes back to Robert B. Parker in what you will tolerate as a listener. Even when only two people are talking and it Everett is telling the story you get "he said or Virgil said" or "I said". I know it correct but with a little work and changing of the voice a little you could delete this situation.
Work Pays Off
Love the voice of Cisco you can see him as he is saying "Got it boss".
Life is not what it seems.
If you like the 5th Witness which the best of this series you'll like this book. What insight how a dedicated lawyer.works. Again I don't listen to many outside the car but had to finish this one in shop.
One no need to know how to make a cheese sandwich which take about 5 minutes in this book. Way too many times in this book she goes way too much description of an event or memory.
Not at all but I'll read all reviews before finishing this series.
She always does a good job.
Too many to mention.
For the professional Kinsey looks pretty awful most of the time in the last several books. She is active in criminal activities and then complains about what she has done. Like I said before after N it been all down hill.
At this point and time No. Scott Brick is the best reader in the business so yes for Scott.
Some of these story lines are getting old so I would really have to be desperate for a read.
The 20 chapters after the book was over.
Some points of history real or made up were kind of neat. What disappointing was we have a president who is a not very good person and nothing sticks to him.
The way got their "Gang" together. Love the way all of the gang interacted.
Little know actor play playhouses in the Midwest.
The set up on The Heist where the drug lord just goes off and tells several stories.
I was disappoint in the FBI, if I would have been give the same choice I would have quit. This was very disturbing to me. Think of your own morals, then you violate them, not a good situations.
I generally don't like books where you take an antihero and then make them the good guy. Not sure if I'll follow the series or not thinking this is what wrong with our society.
