Yes it was time well-spent, interesting to hear about how the brain works and someone's life can be turned upside down.
not sure, but she was very good!
Like best? Not much, don't get why this book is so popular. Characters are weak, gullible and naive. Authors seem to forget earlier parts of story
Very little profound, timeless sociology as id expect from good science fiction. Kept waiting to get sucked in. Just wound up being anxious for it to end.
Granted, SF authors cant predict future technology, but many things seemed plain stupid.
annoyed by the e Scottish characters

Stranger in a strange land....
Guess I'm in the minority, but was WAY less impressed than most "readers". Thought there was too much unimportant detail. I definitely learned why Lincoln was so great a man, but had expected as good a biography as Truman or Katherine Graham, but was anxious for book to end, and didn't mind quickly grazing over sections.
I most enjoyed the emotion and the personal impact on Danza's life from a year of teaching.
I choose this book hoping it would influence my decision to enter teaching in my 50s, as Dnaza did, more or less. I will give it a try based on how he described the profound impact teaching had on his life.
Doubtful. I only listened to this one because of the subject matter.
Danza deserves credit for the most unusual quality of this author-narrated book. Most STINK! This one is decent.
Yes! Great insight into a time and lifestyle
Facts of daily life experienced by "The Help"
A great glimpse into life 40 years ago, and though we know the eventual outcome King does a GREAT job with the story. Sorry to see it end.
The day Lincoln was shot, Ender's Game
nothing specific comes to mind, but very, very well done
Two thumbs up!
A more captivating story, I was under the mistaken impression that this was historical fiction.
That book is pure, factual, history.
Narration was fine.
boredom, overwhelmed by factual information
maybe an unfair review because my expectations were so wrong. I would never have otherwise rented a 43 hr. history lesson.
Pat Conroy at his best!!!!!
Wonderful story, striking moments. Rarely read anything more than once, this is 3rd time for this book!!!!
just plain great reading, not too much inflection, not too little
Highly recommend as a wonderful story that you'll HATE to have end. Ending brough tears to my eyes. Oh Mama do it again!
YES! Narration of the emails ! ANNOYING and wrong based on any email I've ever seen in my life! Has the author ever seen one???
appropriate, young, innocent
Don't really care
I disagree with many's opinion that narrator sounded too young. She is! and innocent, voice appropriate.
Very interesting and informative and FUNNY!!!
this book is non-fiction, there were not scences
Narration is A+
