I normally stick to the few of my favorite authors but for once I decided to take a chance after hearing the little sound byte preview. I was blown away at the in-depth descriptiveness in the writing that Beth Raymer provides. I was immediately taken along with her as she basically, ???wings??? it in the high stress area of sports betting. I cannot wait for her to write another book. Thank you Beth!
once again a true classical read from a very talented author whose work I can't put down
I was drawn into this story from the first paragraph. Get this book and enjoy
it never seems to amaze me how J.Friday can produce such rivoting stories. I cannot wait to how they are going to take care of t the next bad guy without hurting Leila.
Yes, except when I was driving, of course. the author has mastered the ability to build a story in between the scenes. This enables the reader to fully comprehend the story the putting the reader "there" in the scene.
Admittedly it took a few chapters to get use to the different narrator. Note to all narrators who have the unenviable task of narrating a book that another has been successful at. Listen to the previous book and know how to pronounce the names. She kept mispronouncing Piscary's name and I found myself yelling at her the correct pronunciation.Of course that's when i realized that besides that she did a good job.
Yes I did find myself laughing quite a bit. Also saying "No,don't do it!" a lot.
I can't wait for the next edition, please please please please send it quickly! please
It's up there in the top Eight authors, now keep in mind that I own close to 1000 books on tape not just on Audible but the CD's and actual tape too. Yes tape, that's how long I have been a fan of B-O-T.
When she tell the head of the werewolf clan that he has to tell his grand children about her
I find it hard to imagine that there are only two out of the seven books made into audible books. A series this good should be made into audible books in it's entirety
That is a hard question, simply due to the amount of a-books I have (over 380). I can say that it is up in the upper 20%
Gin (like the liquor) does not disappoint. The story with its subplots moves right along. I like how the author is able to keep her story lines fresh using the same characters. This is very smart writing and I am already waiting for the next release.
She has a southern drawl down part, living in New England for the first part of my life then spending the last 30 years on the west coast of FL I've heard my share of accents. She can bring a character to life with the little nuances.
It's up in the top 100. Please remember I own over 600 audiobooks
Even though Shane has to be my least fav. character she does him well
Well it's an over all good series, but if I have to say "Don't do that!" one more time I'm ripping my ears off.
Scene 1"Hey look! A dark scary room, let's not go in there!" Scene 2 Oh let's go in that room because we totally forgot what we said 3 minutes ago. Again!
Things that make me say AAAggghhh for 100 Alex.
This is a wonderfully written book. It moves right along without missing or skipping over any part of the story.
Everything, I wish the next part was out already.
Alexandra is spot on with this story. Understandably she has some difficulty with baritones but that is part of brilliantly spoken story.
I gave this book a chance and did not write a review until I heard to whole thing. I now have to go buy the book so I can read it the way James Marsters would have. It would have to be one of the more important stories that this would have to happen to. I really enjoyed the writing but I am having a HARD time getting through the reader. It was a BAD choice. The man is a competent actor but he obviously does not know the story and how ???Dresden??? acts. If the powers to be, chose to use him again instead of James Marsters, I WILL no longer follow the story. Perhaps go so far as to no longer use Audible.com although I will be checking out the new series that James Marsters is doing, simply because he can act out a story with his voice and not minimally read it.
It would have been better (scratching my head) to have waited for James Marsters to be available and put out first-class products then to do this. This is so frustrating to wait for this book, with such a cliffhanger, and to be given such great work in such an unfortunate way. Please, Please, Please is there someone out there with some money that can pay James Marsters to read this story and have them put it out so we can have ???Harry??? back! I am simply appalled.
