In the latest from the best selling author of Kiss the Girls and When the Wind Blows, Alex Cross is on the trail of a brilliant criminal known only as the Mastermind. Browse more Patterson.

At least on my iPhone using the Audible app the sound quality of this one is abysmal!
Sounds like a bootleg made with a tape recorder circa 1985.

Story is a typical Alex Cross Novel, nothing too exciting or surprising but solid enough to listen to while doing something boring.

I really enjoyed the epic Jack Ryan universe novels up to this point, but after bying this audiobook, I fell like I have been ripped off twice:

First by Mr Clancy, who obviously thought "Oh well, why not break my next novel into small pieces so that people have to pay several times to get one story together". This is AT BEST a third of what you might have come to expect after reading / listening to the earlier Ryan novels. Whats making it worse that it stops in the middle of the storyline, making it painfully obvious that what would have been one book before has now been broken down into pieces to squeeze some extra dollars out of the audience.

Following Mr Clancys lead, Audible then decided that "well, if those people are so dumb as to get hooked on the Ryan stuff badly enough to pay full price for half a novel, why not rip them off some more? Lets make it 2 credits for 10 hours of audiobook!"

Yes, this IS the unabridged version, and the 42(!!) hrs earlier books of the Ryan series go for 1 credit.

Compared to the earlier books of the series, the narrator of this novel has a somewhat whiny voice that needs some getting used to.
