Yes, Pratchett has a amazing ability to make you think about ... everything. He makes you see the humor in so many sterotypes and beliefs that people have.
Stephen Brigg's is one of my favorite readers. I have listened to 4-5 books that he has read and I look for him as the reader.
You won't stop laughing at this book, unless someone kicks you in the socks (listen to the book to get that reference)
I gave this book a high rating even though it kind of read like a text book, but the material was so interesting that I had to keep listening and have found myself referring to it often since. A really good book for helping you figure out why people do what they do.
This was just a rehash of previous material, spliced together. I was really disappointed and I am huge Zig Zigler fan. First two hours were painful and boring none of Zig's normal charm. Two hours in it switched to stuff he had recorded in the 80's, that I had heard before.
Never wasting my time starting it. Two hours of my life I will never get back.
Ken Follet "Fall of Giants"
I liked both performers but they couldn't save this festering pile of guano. First book I have got from audible that I just couldn't finish.
It's only redeeming quailty was that I got it for free.
It was like sitting down with a good friend and just listening to him tell it how it is. I have found myself talking about this book with so many people and Carolla's views are just good old fashion common sense. Something to many people lack these days.
I really enjoyed hearing how the author became sucessful, even when every excuse was given to him not to be. Shows you with hard work and drive anyone can make it in this country.
He has an extremely funny rant about cake vs pie.
I was never a fan of Vanessa Redgrave as an actress, as a reader though, she was amazing. Every character voice was clear and you knew who was talking. The delivery was excellent. I wish the producer would have used her for the rest of the series. Great story, great reader. I would recommend this book to everyone.
This book is for adults that like characters that are in real danger. Don't get attached to anyone. you never know who's head will end-up on a pike
Got this book for a road trip to entertain the kids. I found myself laughing along with them. Great book. It was my first exposure to this author. It won't be my last.
