The story and writing are ok I guess. My problem is, that half way into the book, I realized that I did not like ANY of the characters in the book! Therefore I did not care what happened to them and gave up on the book. There are truly no good guys or bad guys in the book. Just a bunch of people no one would like.
The first half of this book was good. I think I would rate it 4 stars. But it completely lost me when it took a turn for the unreal. I am sorry, but the whole first half of the book is based on common sense and sound logic. Then all of the sudden we are supposed to accept the character would do something completely the opposite? Sorry, I could not finish it.
I am a Mirion Bolitar fan, but I did not like this book very much. The ending was really bad. It was nothing more than a cliffhanger to try and get you to buy the next book; which I will not be doing.
Ok, I liked the book and it had some very good recommendations on running. If you are a runner, I recommend it. However the Author narrated it and I can maybe understand why, being a short book and all. He is not a good narrator though, and if this had been a longer book I could not have dealt with him that much longer.
I loved the first 16 hrs of this book. Then it started to slow down. After a while, I was cheating by listening to it at higher speeds and listening to shorter books on top of it. I don't really like abridged books, but that might be a better way to go. It is a very long story
Set in the future of one possible outcome of the abortion debate, it is a little bit far fetched, but enjoyable. Hey, it's fiction, so let the far fetch basis of the book slide and the story is very well written. If you like the description they give for this book, then you will probably like the book itself.
Two things bothered me about this book. #1 it had very little action. Almost the entire book was people talking and figuring out the mystery of this murder. Talk, talk, talk. #2 when the whole mystery is finally solved, it is a bit unbelievable. So many people and moving parts involved in this plot and cover up, it just would never be conceived in real life.
I did enjoy the Scottish humor and banter. Also the characters were likable and well developed.
I enjoyed this book, but there were parts that just bugged me. It's hard to believe for one thing, but just the sheer number of times she had to announce "I am Divergent!" Really started to bug me. I doubt I listen to the next book in the series.
This was a nice short story and I really enjoyed it. Good plot and characters. If you are looking for a short murder mystery, you can't go wrong.
Listen to Deamon first, then get this book right away. You won't be sorry. Action packed. Great story line.
What a great book. Refreshing point of view. The way the story is written, you can see everything unfolding in the real world.
As soon as I finished this book, I bought the sequel!
You will too.
