I own the book and have read it repeatedly. I bought the audible version because Nora Roberts' story is instructive, entertaining, and loaded with riveting characters. Durante is not suited for an adult read. Laurel is a straight-shooting smart-ass who sounds like a sniveling wuss. Mac is quick-witted and erudite, but sounds like a whiner. Emma is sexy, sultry, and utterly nurturing and none of that comes out in this story. Parker is YODA and sounds like a compromising goofball. Whoever chose Emily Durante to read this made an error: She should be reading the Ramona books.
The characters are unique, defined, described, and Durante ignores all of Roberts' clues. It's shameful.
