Young Fitz, the illegitimate son of the noble Prince Chivalry, is ignored by all royalty except the devious King Shrewd, who has had him tutored him in the dark arts of the assassin. He has barely survived his first, soul-shattering mission, and when he returns to the court, he is thrown headfirst into the tumult of royal life.

What was most disappointing about Robin Hobb’s story?

The first book of this series was great. I quit reading the second book prior to finishing chapter one. I do not like disturbing books. This book talked repeatedly about cutting throats, dismembering children, raping women, killing, blood, death, etc... Not my type of book.

Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

What could Orson Scott Card have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Get rid of the referenced to naked kids, and male body parts. I do not know what Orson Scott Cards obsession is with talking about nude children is, but this book is not for me.
