Four decades after it first shook the nation, then the world, William Peter Blatty's thrilling masterwork of faith and demonic possession returns in an even more powerful form. Raw and profane, shocking and blood-chilling, it remains a modern parable of good and evil and perhaps the most terrifying novel ever written.

Usually an author does a terrible job of narrating but this author is an exception. He did an amazing job telling an amazing story. His accents were so good and his portrayal of the demon would send shivers down my spine.

When Arlene Fleet heads up north for college, she makes three promises to God: She will stop fornicating with every boy who crosses her path; never tell another lie; and never, ever go back to the "fourth rack of hell", her hometown of Possett, Alabama. All she wants from Him is one little miracle: make sure the body is never found.

I bought this book because it was on sale, had good reviews, was about the state I live in and I liked the narrators voice in the sample. I am a HUGE fantasy and historical fiction fan and this doesn't fall into those categories but I fell in love with the writing style of this author right away and have already bought another one of her books and will buy more. The narrator did a great job.

MacKayla Lane's life is good. She has great friends, a decent job, and a car that breaks down only every other week or so. In other words, she's your perfectly ordinary 21st-century woman. Or so she thinks...until something extraordinary happens.

The story was beautiful. I really cared about the characters and at times, felt like part of the family. The narrator was incredible...the best I have ever heard. She has a beautiful voice and does a great job with the different accents. The whole experience was a complete joy that I plan to experience again.
