Marnie Logan often feels like she's being watched: A warm breath on the back of her neck, or a shadow in the corner of her eye that vanishes when she turns her head. She has reason to be frightened. Her husband Daniel has inexplicably vanished, and the police have no leads in the case. Without proof of death or evidence of foul play, she can't access his bank accounts or his life insurance. Depressed and increasingly desperate, she seeks the help of clinical psychologist Joe O'Loughlin.

MR's Joe O'Loughlin series continues to entertain and give the brain a good workout trying to figure out who the villain is. I've thoroughly enjoyed every book in this series.

Two months after the suspicious and much-publicized death of his father on the island of Martha's Vineyard, it is taking all of Adam Blaine's will to suture the deep wounds the tragedy has inflicted upon his family and himself. As the court inquest into Benjamin Blaine's death casts suspicions on those closest to him, Adam struggles to protect them from those who still suspect that his father was murdered by one of his kin.

I loved the first two books in this trilogy (Fall from Grace and Loss of Innocence). I couldn't wait to read this book to see how Patterson resolved this family's convoluted situation. I'm pretty open-minded and anything but a prude, but the "ick" factor just left me cold. Realistically, I don't see how there could ever be a "happily ever after" as implied in the epilogue.

First-year detective Kathleen Doyle is a plucky Irish redhead of humble origins and modest means. Chief Inspector Michael Acton is her antithesis: a British lord turned cop. He's tall, handsome, and enigmatic - to a fault. He also has a knack for solving London's most high-profile crimes. Acton selects Doyle out of the newbie squad to partner with him on a series of investigations because she always knows when someone is lying - a trait that comes in handy when interviewing suspects and witnesses.

I hope this is the first of many books in this series. I haven't been this impressed with the beginning of a series since I read Sue Grafton's A Is For Alibi. The principles are intriguing and more than a little different from your usual lead characters. I didn't figure out who the villain was until the very end, which is unusual for me. I can't wait for the second book.

Beautiful, sweet Shay and dark, dangerous Tanner don′t have a lot in common. He′s a suspicious big city cop come home to his family′s ranch and she′s a bleeding heart who works for a group that seeks out ranches to conserve after the owners have passed away. But the suspicious death of Tanner′s uncle at his ranch throws the two opposites together and sparks fly.

This is a wonderful story ruined by the narrator. Her phrasing was terrible and she kept reversing small words - sometimes it mattered, sometimes not. I have always loved Lowell's novels. I was really looking forward to this one. I ended up buying the print version of this book so I could enjoy it.
