The fact that you get so many different accounts, from so many different types of people from all over the world, of what happened just before and during the zombie apocalypse.

There are so many great characters, being voiced by so many great actors.

    Any additional comments?

I felt this was a very creative way to tell what has become a very familiar story.

Ponyboy can count on his brothers. And on his friends. But not on much else besides trouble with the Socs, a vicious gang of rich kids whose idea of a good time is beating up "greasers" like Ponyboy. At least he knows what to expect, until the night someone takes things too far.

Where does The Outsiders rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It would rank among my favorites.

What did you like best about this story?

    The camaraderie among the "greasers."

What about Jim Fyfe’s performance did you like?

I enjoyed Fyte's variety of voices, which adds to the listening experience.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I'll go with the tagline they did use when they did make this into a movie: "They grew up on the outside of society. They weren't looking for a fight. They were looking to belong."

    Any additional comments?

I would recommend this book to anyone, young or old.

Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

What did you love best about Sycamore Row?

As usual, I loved Grisham's characters,

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sycamore Row?

Without giving too much away, the main question in this book is basically "Why would a wealthy white businessman write a last-minute will leaving his black housekeeper approximately $20 million while cutting out his entire family?" The manner in which the answer comes out in court is a very memorable moment.

Which character – as performed by Michael Beck – was your favorite?

The great thing about Michael Beck is that he seems to have a voice for every single character. The book is loaded with interesting characters. If I had to choose one, I would probably go with Harry Rex Vonner. He amuses me.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I found the ending to be very moving.

    Any additional comments?

Another great book by John Grisham, with his incredible storytelling and character development. Michael Beck is the best narrator I have ever heard, and adds a lot to the performance of the book.

The life of a 10-year-old black girl is shattered by two drunken and remorseless young men. The mostly white town reacts with shock and horror at the inhuman crime, until her father acquires an assault rifle and takes justice into his own outraged hands.

If you could sum up A Time to Kill & The King of Torts in three words, what would they be?

    Essential legal thrillers.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes. The plots of the stories unfolded in such a way that you just had to keep going, impatiently waiting for what would come next. The way Grisham writes his characters makes you genuinely care what happens to them.

What does Michael Beck bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Michael Beck is an amazing narrator. Beck sounds less like he is reading, and more like he is telling you a story. He seems to have an unlimited number of character voices, which really adds to the experience.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were moments in both books that moved me, but it wouldn't make sense to share them here, in a review, as that would lessen their impact for anyone that reads this and then listens to the books afterwards.

    Any additional comments?

A Time to Kill is John Grisham's finest work, and one of the best novels of our time. I would very highly recommend it to anyone in audio format or in text form. It is an essential read. The King of Torts is another great compelling legal thriller from Grisham which I also highly recommend. You can get either of these titles individually in print or audio, but you can't beat this deal of getting them both in one place at the same time for one price.

John Grisham returns to Ford County, Mississippi, the setting of his immensely popular first novel, A Time to Kill. This wholly surprising collection of stories reminds us once again why Grisham is America's favorite storyteller.

    Story
What did you like best about Ford County? What did you like least?

The best thing about Ford County was definitely the stories. Grisham tells some amazing stories, as he usually does with his novels. Unfortunately, Grisham narrates the audio of this collection of stories. His narration is horrendous, and is easily what I liked least about this audio book.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked different things about each of the stories. Grisham, the writer, always does a great job of building characters and stories, and making you care about what happens to his characters.

What didn’t you like about John Grisham’s performance?

Grisham is undoubtedly one of the best storytellers of our time, but he just simply should never narrate. He reads like someone just learning to read, sounding like he is reading lines off of note cards, with pauses in inappropriate places, and generally sounds like this is the first time he has ever seen the words he is now reading. The way he reads, it almost makes it difficult to tell when one story has ended and another has begun. I really hate to insult anything the man does. The stories are amazing. But Grisham actually makes the stories almost unbearable to listen to.

Do you think Ford County needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I would say Ford County definitely needs a follow-up book. The stories are amazing and I would love to read more. There just needs to be a different narrator next time.

    Any additional comments?

Buy the actual hard copy of the book. The stories are amazing. Stay away from the audio version.
