Would you try another book from Josh Lanyon and/or Max Miller?

I have most of JL's books, in multiple formatsAs for the narrator, probably, I had some issues with two of the voices in this book, but the rest was good, they did ruin my enjoyment a bit though as I got dragged out of the story when they happened

What other book might you compare The Darkling Thrush to and why?

    Ummm, no idea

How could the performance have been better?

It wasn't bad, just not my thing, vocal wise

Have you listened to any of R. Kirstein’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No, but I want to

    Any additional comments?

I really like the narrator, but the writing is immature and really sugary, not my thing

Criss Cross finds the ghosts surrounding Victor getting awfully pushy. The medications that Victor usually takes to control his abilities are threatening to destroy his liver, and his new meds aren't any more effective than sugar pills. Vic is also adjusting to a new PsyCop partner, a mild-mannered guy named Roger with all the personality of white bread. At least he's willing to spring for the Starbucks.

I love this series, well, mostly I love Matt, Evan is too much of a martyr for my taste. Sadly I don't like the narrator very much, he sounds like he's going to cry most of the time, if they stick with him for the rest of the books in the series, I won't be getting them.
But, if you've read the blurp and listened to the sample and thought "wow" then go for it, it really is a good series.

Victor Bayne, the psychic half a PsyCop team, is a gay medium who's more concerned with flying under the radar than in making waves. He hooks up with handsome Jacob Marks, a non-psychic (or "Stiff") from an adjacent precinct at his ex-partner's retirement party, and it seems like his dubious luck has taken a turn for the better. But then a serial killer surfaces who can change his appearance to match any witness' idea of the world's hottest guy.

    The voice of Vic

An erotic gay romance, a suspenseful thriller.... A series of murders in New York City has stymied the police and FBI alike, and they suspect the culprit is a single killer sending an indecipherable message. But when the two federal agents assigned to the investigation are taken out, the FBI takes a more personal interest in the case. Special Agent Ty Grady is pulled out of undercover work. He's cocky, abrasive, and indisputably the best at what he does.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

YES, the narrator, she speaks soooo slooowly, nothing about the book itself though

Hmmm, not sure, there are so many

How could the performance have been better?

    Another narrator

Could you see Dragonsong: Harper Hall Trilogy, Volume 1 being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    YES, YES, YES
And I don't care, as long as they can act

    Any additional comments?

I love the Harper Hall trilogy, I've loved it for close to 30 years, but I recommend you get a paper- or ebook instead of this one
