Not her best novel, I would dprobably not recommend this book especially with so much child abuse, gets a bit overwhelming
Texture and reality
I am into the third hour of this book and cannot make up my mind whether to finish it or not. It is quite childish overall, but also has some charm. I am going to stop listening for the moment and go back to it later.
I have to say that this is one of the most wonderful books I have ever listened to. I am still absorbed by the intensity of the dialoge and the intense meaning of every word and phrase.
This is not a novel about a Jinni and a Golem, but about people and their needs and desires.
Please listen to this epic and consider our lives, needs and wants and reflect just want this aurthor wants us to reap from this wonerful novel.
Please do not discount this as it is absolutely fantasic
Well, this is the best true crime book I have ever heard. It was sensitive and very respectful. I t must have taken a great deal of time and emotional effort to write. I became totally engrossed in the lives of both families and shed a few tears. It had a very satisfactory ending and I admire the author for her ability to share such a personal account of such terrible murders. One can imagine it happening to anyone we know and love.
I found this to be a really lovely tale, it was beautiful. It was beautifully written and I had to know what happend. If you like a sweet, almost sad story witha happy ending, then this is for you.
Really enjoyed this book, I have never read the Harry Bosch series and decided to begin at the beginning...Glad I did
I am so sorry i bought the abridged version of this book, I didn't see the unabridged underneath within the list. Anyway, apart from that I loved the book and Finty Williams narration.
Sophie Kinsella uses current technology in a witty and sophisticated way that I really enjoyed.
I love Finty Williams reading this style of book, it really suits her voice. I enjoyed the main charachter Katie Lavender.
I don't usually listen to romance novels but this had depth and kindness, a lovely story read by a wonderful narrator.
I really did not want this book to finish. Alison Larkin is a most talented and fascinating person. Her voices are amazing and her sense of humour infectious. This book will both entertain and cause moments of self reflection. Go ahead and listen to your hearts content
This is a wonderful story and had me on the edge of my seat on many occaisions. i had tears in my eyes as the dialogue centered on beautiful Maggie
The concept of this story line is just what i love, however eventhough enjoyed this book it was not exactly what i had anticipated
