I am a huge Gilbert Morris fan. I have listened to several of the audio books and read several of his books. I was extremely disappointed in this book. Usually you are captured within the first chapter. I kept listening after the first chapter and still could not get into this book. However, I will try again after letting it sit for a few months.
Christine Rendel's reading was satisfactory.
STORY WAS SLOW. HARD TO GET INTO. I WOULD SAY THAT IT WAS THE WRITER NOT THE NARRATOR THAT MADE THIS HARD TO GET INTO. LOVE JESSICA ALMASY'S NARRATIONS.
THE SEREIS IS VERY GOOD. THE NARRATOR WAS ONE OF THE WORST I'VE HEARD. SO BAD THAT I DID NOT FINISH THE BOOK.
I could not even listen to the whole book because the narrator was so awful
I like all of Greg Ilse's Penn Cage books. Whomever set David Ledoux up to do the narration did the book, the author and the series a great disservice.
Anger because I have absolutely no tolerance for racism and injustice.
YES! It is almost spring now, but next year in the middle of a blizzard I will be returning to this one.
The narrator did a great job.
I've heard this voice before, can't remember on what book, does a great job always.
I have not read the print version, but this was a great listen. Suzy Myers did a wonderful job of narrating.
The story-line was great.
I actually listened in 2 settings. If I had time it would have been one.
I agree with another listener: Audible WHERE IS SEQUEL??
Yes, to refresh if needed to.
Yes, could not wait to find out if the daughter would be okay.
He has a wonderful narrator voice. Looked for other books he narrated.
The narrator. I listen to a lot of audio books. I often pick the books that I want to listen to by who is doing the narration. The narrator of this book was odd from the first word. Everyting was read extremely roboticly. Narrators of these books most of the time do an wonderful job of assigning a new voice to each character. This narrator could not even remember from sentence to sentence whose voice he was using for which character. UGH!
I could not finish the book.
Different narrator. There is a wealth of wonderful male voices to pick from.
Fast-paced, engaging, and fun.
Charlie. I loved his outlook on life and his beliefs.
Charlie. In my mind Joshua Swanson sounds like Charlie would sound.
I read a review from a grandmother about this book before purchasing it. That review is what made me take the chance on getting it. I must say that I would agree with her whole-heartedly, this book is not just for kids. I am 46 and enjoyed it completely.
I love listening to their voices so no.
I really liked hearing how Phil changed his life around and dedicated it to Jesus.
Hap-pey, Hap-pey, Hap-pey!
Learning that Dennis Day had that wide range of voices. He was wonderful.
All of them.
