On October 25, 2011, aid worker Jessica Buchanan was kidnapped at gunpoint and held for ransom by an organized band of Somali land pirates. For the next three months, Jessica was terrorized by more than two dozen gangsters. Every terrifying moment Jessica spent suffering in captivity was matched by that of her adoring husband working behind the scenes to deal with her captors. Finally, on January 25, 2012, President Barack Obama ordered a rescue operation by a team of 24 Navy SEALs. Impossible Odds is a harrowing and heart-wrenching memoir of Jessica's kidnapping, her three months in captivity, and her rescue by the Navy SEALs.

If you could sum up Impossible Odds in three words, what would they be?

    Courageous, Intense and Heartwarming.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jessica, of course. She always looked out for Paul who was kidnapped along with her. She kept her cool even though she was angry because she knew that their were two lives at stake not just one. She was ingenious in finding ways to care for herself even though they didn't give her the supplies she needed to help her survive.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

In the beginning of the book, at the time of Jessica's kidnapping... I was worried about the female narrator not showing enough emotion. I kept listening and found that she did in the rest of the book. She did a great job. The other narrators were wonderful too and it was nice to change voices when changing perspectives and characters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I love the title of the book and wouldn't change it for a possible film. It's perfect!

    Any additional comments?

I didn't know anything about this book or the kidnapping that had occurred until a friend said that she saw the author (Jessica) on a talk show recently. My friend never listened to the audio book so she couldn't recommend it to me. I decided to take a chance on it and found that it was absolutely inspiring. I highly recommend it.

What made the experience of listening to Dead as a Doornail the most enjoyable?

I love listening to the characters evolve and grow. I can't get enough of these storylines.

Would you recommend Dead as a Doornail to your friends? Why or why not?

You can't just stop at 4. You have to keep going.

What about Johanna Parker’s performance did you like?

She always does a great job with her voices. I usually can't wait to hear what new character has entered into the picture so I can hear the voice that Johanna is going to do.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wanted to, but I didn't. I did enjoy it though.

    Any additional comments?

The only thing that I don't care for with this series is the "ware panther" storyline. I didn't care for it in the TV show either. Werewolf's are fine though. I am hoping that the next few books do not have the "ware panther" storyline as a large portion of the story.

Where does A Captain's Duty rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is one of my favorites. I really enjoyed it.

What other book might you compare A Captain's Duty to and why?

    I don't really have a comparison.

Which character – as performed by George K. Wilson – was your favorite?

They were all great characters. He did a wonderful job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the captain was about to say goodbye to his wife when he thought he was about to be killed. I think my eyes watered up. Very moving. I saw the movie first and then listened to the audio book. I loved the back story of the captain and the love that he had for his wife. They didn't explain their close relationship in the movie and knowing how strong their love was made the story a lot more emotional.

    Any additional comments?

I couldn't wait to listen to the audio book. It was a fascinating book. Loved it. Definitely check it out.

Where does A Little Bit Wicked rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is one of my top favorite books. I loved living vicariously through her as she shares her ups and downs in her life and career. I really didn't know very much about her and appreciated the honest way she told her story. It was hilarious and beautiful.

What was one of the most memorable moments of A Little Bit Wicked?

The funny names she gives everything and the fabulous way she reads her own book. I was so happy to hear that she was the performer.

What about the narrator’s performance did you like?

She is a great performer and has her own unique way of delivering a great story. I didn't want it to end and was shocked when it did. That got us up to 2008...On to the next book?

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When she was taking about the passing of her grandfather or nursing her mother in her time of need. What a great daughter and granddaughter.

    Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book and especially the audio version. I absolutely loved every minute of it.

Jane Hayes is a seemingly normal young New Yorker, but she has a secret. Her obsession with Mr. Darcy, as played by Colin Firth in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, is ruining her love life: no real man can compare. But when a wealthy relative bequeaths her a trip to an English resort catering to Austen-crazed women, Jane's fantasies of meeting the perfect Regency-era gentleman suddenly become realer than she ever could have imagined.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I did recommend this book to several people. I also went out and bought the DVD (which is different from the book) before actually seeing the movie. I loved it that much.

What other book might you compare Austenland to and why?

Do I dare say, "Pride and Prejudice"? I am not sure what to compare it too. I don't read a lot of romance novels.

Have you listened to any of Katherine Kellgren’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No. This is my first time listening to her performance. I think she did a great job. I enjoyed it completely. Her voices brought the characters to life for me.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I really loved the humor throughout the book, but I loved the ending on the airplane. I don't want to give anything else away. It was an original ending, but the movie did the predictable ending that I didn't want to happen. Of course.

    Any additional comments?

I would highly recommend this book and then for a laugh, see the movie. They are both funny and enjoyable.

Where does The Art of the Steal rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is hard to rank because it isn't a fiction book which makes it hard to follow, but there is a lot of information that can be very helpful. I got through it in parts. It took awhile, but it was worth it.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

Hearing about the many ways crooks will try to scan you out of your money. Amazing.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I think the narrator did a good job with the information given. It is a really dry subject.

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

The questions that he asks in the back of the book. They help you to find out how venerable you are when it comes to fraud, scamming and your finances. Very helpful.

    Any additional comments?

This book is worth listening to.

Today, nine out of 10 Americans live in places at significant risk of earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, terrorism, or other disasters. Tomorrow, some of us will have to make split-second choices to save ourselves and our families. How will we react? What will it feel like? Will we be heroes or victims? Will our upbringing, our gender, our personality - anything we've ever learned, thought, or dreamed of - ultimately matter?

What did you love best about The Unthinkable?

The many different stories of how people reacted during an emergency. It really made me think, "What would I do in their shoes"? It really opened my eyes.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked hearing about the police officer who was in a shootout and how his body reacted during it. Interesting. Also, the many interviews from the 9/11 survivors was compelling.

Have you listened to any of Kirsten Potter’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first time listening to her. I would listen to another of her perfomances in a heartbeat. She was great.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I recently found out about this book while taking a Disaster Preparedness course through work. I thought it was going to be another boring book from my work that I would have to read. I was completely wrong. I couldn't stop listening to it. I did tear up at many different times while listening. Some stories are hard to take in.

    Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book for anyone who would like to be more prepared in an emergency/disaster.
