Mitch Rapp is arguably one of the most riveting characters and Vince Flynn continues to do an amazing job with him. George Guidall is so awesome as the narrator that I don't think I can listen to a Mitch Rapp book that he does not narrate--he's that good!!
I am a huge fan of the Mitch Rapp series and Extreme Measures is one of the best! Once again, Vince Flynn tells a riveting and entertaining story while at the same time, tackling real-life political issues. Regardless of your political opinions, Extreme Measures will guarantee to get you thinking about an incredibly hot topic that is very real. As always, George Guidall does a masterful job in bringing the story to life--I cannot imagine listening to another narrator do this series. This is a must read if you are a Vince Flynn fan!
Overall the book exceeded my expectations in regards to some of the bad reviews I have seen on it. I believe Carolyn McCormick does a really good job as narrator and have listened to all 3 of the Hunger Games books. Story-wise, I think this one had the most potential but I would rate this as my least favorite of the three (with the first one being the best). I feel that Suzanne Collins struggled a bit to come up with a "tidy" ending to the series and the end felt a bit rushed in how it was put together. It felt a bit more like the end of a book versus the entire series, but overall I really enjoyed the whole trilogy.
American Assassin provides great background on Mitch Rapp, but you may be disappointed if you have read other Mitch Rapp books first. From future books, we know Mitch to be a die-hard super killing machine--so it is a bit awkward to see him as a wet-behind-the-ears recruit. However, the story is still amazing and Vince Flynn continues to entertain. George Guidall is once again AWESOME at narrating the story of Mitch and really brings the characters to life.
Consent to Kill is an unbelievable page turner that will get your heart racing. I could understand why there was consideration to make this one into a movie--and I hope that happens. My only gripe (potential SPOILER) is that I wish Mitch was a bit more ruthless at the end of this. However, the book is amazing and George Guidall once again makes this a must-listen!
Vince Flynn does it again with another incredible Mitch Rapp book. I am amazed at how he is able to weave political hot-topics into the story while still making it extremely entertaining and riveting. George Guidall is A+ and you will not be disappointed with this book.
This is my first Vince Flynn book and I am now hooked!! The story is fantastic and is a true page turner. George Guidall is hands-down the best narrator for these stories and is one of the best in the game. I strongly recommend this book and promise that you will be as hooked as I am.
Whether or not you love or hate him, Donald Rumsfeld does an amazing job in recounting his experiences & insights over several decades of American politics. Having him as the narrator was fantastic and he does an outstanding job in making potentially dry material very enjoyable. My only wish is that he spent a bit more time focusing on his period of time with the Bush administration--but overall, a great read and I highly recommend it for those interested in learning the "inside story" of politics.
This is a great book and the narrator is fantastic!! The story itself is much longer than it needed to be and I found it switching from 1958 to 1985 too frequently--and often in the middle of a sentence--which made it challenging to follow. While the story of 1958 was very helpful, I feel too much emphasis was placed there that detracted from the "present-day" piece. Overall, a very enjoyable story and the narrator made it even better!
