The Alliance and its colonies have called a truce and signed the Confederation Agreement, providing the frontier worlds with guarantees of self-government. No one expects the deal to last, and both sides are preparing for the next showdown. But from the depths of space another challenge is coming, one that will endanger the very survival of mankind and force not just the Alliance and its colonies, but all of the Superpowers, to join forces or face annihilation.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The Narrator made it nearly impossible to listen to and I am a VERY patient person who does not easily let a bad narrator bother him.

What other book might you compare The First Imperium to and why?

    Any well written Space Opera

Would you be willing to try another one of Jeff Bower’s performances?

    No

Was The First Imperium worth the listening time?

You should read this book do not listen to it

    Any additional comments?

The only way to describe the way this book was narrated was that it most resembled the way an adult would read a book aloud to a class room of 6 year olds. It was just horrible. To make it worse the narrator tried from time to time to act out the voices and that was just a tragedy.

While Jeff Bower may grow to be a good narrator he has a long long way to go. I cannot recommend this book based on the narration alone.

A new novel set in the universe of The Empire's Corps! When Sameena's brother accidentally annoys a religious leader on her home world, her entire family is targeted for elimination. Forced to flee to save her life, Sameena stows away on a trader starship and is eventually welcomed into the crew, embracing their very different culture and making a new life for herself amongst the stars.

It threw me off for a little bit but give it a chance its a very good side story or even series of its own. The Trader Queen is a great character.

With average grades, less than stellar play in baseball, and a single mother struggling to make ends meet, it looks as if Austin's only way to continue his education would be through some kind of miracle.

It will power the electric car, relieve global warming, and catapult the winner into a new era of economic and political mastery. Can the United States win? Steve LeVine was granted unprecedented access to a secret federal laboratory outside Chicago, where a group of geniuses is trying to solve this next monumental task of physics. But these scientists - almost all foreign born - are not alone.

Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

I simply cannot recommend this book enough. It left me starting to research this in a depth greater than I already knew about and wondering why our government is ignoring this and why we having handed over the technology to countries s like China to destroy us utterly.
