Bobbi Anderson and the other good folks of Haven, Maine, have sold their souls to reap the rewards of the most deadly evil this side of Hell.

The Tommyknockers is one of my favorite Stephen King novels. I first read it in the early 90s and it has always been on my mind. I've been wanting to re-read it but haven't had the time. This audiobook has helped scratch that itch. Edward Hermann does a fine job narrating the story. The story is good but it is a bit long winded, with just a bit too much detail on the background. Still, the town's slow transformation is so gripping you want to know how the story will end.

A new store has opened in the town of Castle Rock, Maine. It has whatever your heart desires...if you're willing to pay the price. In this chilling novel by one of the most potent imaginations of our time, evil is on a shopping spree and out to scare you witless. Presented unabridged and read by the author.

I tried to read this book when it came out in 1991 and quit after 50 pages.
A few years later I tried to read the book again and made it around 200 pages and quit again. I couldn't get into the story.
Fast forward to 2013 and purchased the book when I saw Stephen King was narrating. I did not want to stop listening. I have always enjoyed Stephen King audiobooks more when he is reading them. He is so engrossing to listen to. I listened to the last seven hours in one day. I even followed along with the novel for the last 50 pages. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

I've listened to a good number of King novels and this is one of the best audiobooks of his. Dennis Boutsikaris does a great job bringing you in and immersing you in the story.
