I had my teenage sons listen to when I was done, and they loved it as well. Eric sets a great example for us all. The story is educational, inspirational, and at times very funny. He is also a talented writer and a good reader. Out of the 170 titles in my library, I'd rank this in the top 5, easily.
More vocabulary words, less cutesy banter.
I learned a few new words, but about 90% of them are just too easy in this version.
This guy comes across like Terrence the new age preacher from the movie Yes Man. Tolerated it through most of the book, but then he cited the conclusions of one of Europe's most renowned psychics as a source to back up some point....click. Any shred of credibility was lost. Can't finish the book. Complete waste of a credit.
Another unique and interesting story by Courtenay. But also worth it just to hear Humphrey Bower's skill set as narrator. He was awesome in Shantaram, but to hear an Australian do a dead-on impersonation of an African American impersonating a Scot was amazing.
The unusual storyline, mixed with the author's sardonic wit made this a surprising, suspenseful, and really entertaining listen. Not for the faint of heart...I had to pull over because part of the descriptive in this book literally made me feel sick (you'll know which part). Even so, this book is now one of my favorites!
Both a remarkable story and bonanza of great information that will refute a lot of what you'll be fed in Runner's World articles and by the running "experts." I'm a marathoner, but the author's story and real world research and accounts described in this book completely changed what I thought I knew about running, eating, health and aging. It's a fascinating listen...and the only audible book I immediately re-listened to after I finished it the first time.
I've been a huge fan of Brian Tracy but this one left me disappointed. I was expecting filet mignon and ended up with sausage. This is a poorly produced, sales-oriented mish-mash of his old stuff, which seems to be the key to his own get-rich-quick strategy of late.
