Why we think it’s a great listen: Got 40 hours to kill? You’ll find the time when you start listening to Lee’s take on Follett’s epic – and widely celebrated – novel of 12th-century England. The Pillars of the Earth tells the story of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout and resourceful monk driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has known...of Tom, the mason who becomes his architect - a man divided in his soul...and of the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame....

    "Engrossing but end falls flat"
    Overall

This was a very engrossing book. I found myself keeping my headphones on well past my commute time home. But after some 35 hours of an eventful colorful story I found the last five hours fell flat an imageless. With loads of peoples names you never heard of going on about this person did this to that person, no participation. A real disappointing end to a wonderful book.

Best selling author John Grisham (A Time to Kill, The Brethren) returns with a new tale for modern times, offering a hilarious look at the chaos and frenzy that have become a part of our holiday tradition.

    "Fun and entertaining"
    Overall

This was a very fun book. Some very funny tongue in cheek musings of american Christmas traditions. This is no great literature just some guilty pleasure.
