Nicole Ashe is the average American girl, except that she happens to work for a vampire and doesn't realize it. But all that changes when her boss sends her to convince a local rock musician – heartthrob, to help them retrieve an ancient relic that could be the answer to the vampire's curse. There is something about Nicole that stirs Alec's hunger nearly beyond control, but he would do anything to protect her...even from himself.

The male narrator is ok except when he is voicing the vamps. His voice is way too low and slow!

At age 18, Shiloh Raben is tired. He no longer has the energy to deal with mean classmates, inner doubt, and fear of familial rejection, so he takes a razor to his wrist. When he wakes up in the hospital, Shiloh meets Travis Kahn, the EMT who saved him and didn’t leave his side. Travis is handsome, smart, and funny - the type of guy Shiloh would never be brave enough to approach.

I couldn't figure this book out. It never made sense to me. It may have been better in the print version where you could go back and clarify things, but I doubt it. I usually like this author so I was disappointed.

This is going to be another great series from Janet. Well worth reading. Totally different from Stephanie Plum but another strong female lead.

This book has no ending. It is worse than one that makes you want to read the next book. It is like they just didn't finish the book and published it anyway.
